Excellent filet of beef curry and chili tofu dishes. I can’t speak to the negative reviews, have I just been lucky over my last dozen orders? I have never been disappointed in last 6 months of ordering(for delivery) there. Definitely recommend, at least the two dishes I mentioned:)

The food was definitely one of the worst I’ve experienced in a chinese restaurant. Well it’s true I’m used to the very good chinese restaurants of the chinese neighborhood in Paris(where I come from), but if that’s the average level around I’d rather eat at home. Really, we took two different meats with two different sauces to taste both, one was duck with cashew nuts sauce and the other one was chicken with ginger sauce, bamboo shoots with it, and we took also three starters: spring rolls, szechuan rolls and a crab meat sweet corn soup, we received a big bag of prawn chips for free with it(unfortunately the flavor seemed to be in supplement, but not the fat). Speaking about the starters, we didn’t had a chance to define which one was which and finally decided that both were tasteless anyway. The crab meat soup was ok, like just very average, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t actual crab meat inside but crab surimi instead. The main course was pretty bad too, once more it was pretty hard to define which one was which. At last, the chicken with ginger sauce was very bad, the sauce was very gelatinous, probably due to an overdose of glutamate, and they were huge slices of ginger inside, very disgusting when you actually crisp in a slice. The bamboo shoots contained some kind of uncooked potato slices ?! And the duck was tasteless, same gelatinous consistency as the chicken(and same taste), and we were both wondering were the cashew nuts were supposed to be… We both didn’t finished any of our dishes. As know that a main course there cost around 9 €, this is definitely way too much for what it is. I don’t like to put such bad marks on Unilocal, but I can’t help myself this time, probably one of the worst restaurant I’ve experienced recently. Or even since I’m on Unilocal actually…

The food was average. The delivery service is very bad. The delivery man shouted at me over the phone when he could not get my address right and was unable to find it on the first attempt. In my opinion, it was very rude to blame and make mean comments to the customers; we are not obligated to buy from them.

We’ve been eating here for a number of years now as a family. It’s a great little spot — the food is always reliable, typical Chinese fare and they do some Japanese and Thai dishes. My favourites are the Yuk Sung starter and Ebi Tempura which can be a starter or a main course. The Thai curries are good too. The staff are really friendly and helpful. You can have a free bottle of house wine for every two people. It’s above a takeaway and is quite unassuming from the outside. The décor is nothing special — swirly carpet and Chinese pictures. I’ve plenty of good memories here and would recommend it as a good neighbourhood restaurant.

Royal Garden is a smallish, restaurant with mediocre food. The service is very friendly and helpful, but the prices are a lot more expensive when you eat in the restaurant. So my obvious suggestion is to save a bit of moola and eat at home. Get a DVD and snuggle up with the significant other, or if you don’t have a significant other get a body pillow! They do have a great selection of different meal deals! So if you’re feeling really peckish you can’t go wrong with them!
