Last weekend I had a couple of drinks with some friends and I really liked it. Music and mixture of people are great and it is an spacious place so you can enjoy your drink without craziness around you. I love the details of Chinese Lamps just beside the bar and the combination of a entrance with tables to have dinner and then just beside a dance floor with classics of the eighties. They have a menu of drinks and I saw some interesting cocktails flying over. I had my Gin Tonic but next time I will go for a more unconventional one. I am gonna to repeat and I have heard that the restaurant is good too. Do you need anything else for a Saturday Night?

Finally a great fusion restaurant in dublin, I loved this little tapas-style Scandinavian, Asian mix! First of all, the setting is very cosy and comfortable, the staff are very helpful and professional. The menu is simple to follow, everything was priced reasonably(–ish) and they had great offers on dish combinations. The food was delicious, I could not fault it in any way really! All the meats were fresh and cooked to perfection, I wish I had room for more food or Nobo ice cream but our server was right; the portions were enough to make is all stuffed! Don’t go crazy(like we did) and order a lot you can always order more later and service is pretty fast! Lovely place any day of the week/time of the day I’m always dragging people there.

It has taken me so long to write a review for here and I don’t know why as it was great! This building is beautiful, ideally located where the old Dragon Bar was on George’s Street. The décor is smart and sophisticated which suits this place as when they finish serving food they turn up the music and people stay on to have a few drinks, which leads me on to the cocktails. Simply put– they’re amazing! They have a fantastic selection and we tried a few and they were all delicious, with the Hemingway Daquiri being a particular standout! The menu is really different to anything I’ve tried in Dublin which makes it quite hard to describe but an Asian/Scandanavian mix in the form of tapas is probably the closest I can get to it. We got a few dishes to share– the seared beef, chicken pot stickers and the pulled pork steamed bun with a couple of sides. The seared beef and chicken pot stickers were cooked perfectly and were really tasty. I wasn’t crazy about the pulled pork steamed bun or the sweet potato fries but they seemed to be a popular choice, they just weren’t to my taste! They don’t have a great deasert menu but they serve the small tubs of Nobu ice-cream which hit the spot. The only downfall for me was that this place is not cheap and the drinks were more expensive than the food. I’ll definitely go again, I’ll just be waiting until after payday!

I rarely bother to give a negative review but I happened to have two bookings at Soder and Ko over the last week and both were less than desirable. Firstly, and perhaps the most disturbing, the women’s bathroom is full of fruit flies. Where they’re coming from, I’ve not a clue. They just seem to be swarming around the stalls. I noticed this on both occasions. The food is okay, but I’ve had far better. As a vegetarian I understand my options are limited so I can only speak for the tofu and vegetarian dishes, to be fair, but I thought the range was a bit disappointing, particularly for cost. I’m not going to ramble on here but I was just overall disappointed with the service and food. I expected a lot more from this establishment.

I remember this place first as SoSuMe and then of course as Dragon and what they have done to this place under it’s new owners is pretty amazing. It looks great. I think a lot of this review is down to personal taste but it would not be my type of crowd or vibe. We got a comfy corner table as we got in and after a little mix up with wait staff our drinks order was finally taken. It seemed maybe a little disorganised. Who is taking orders in this area? Are staff changing over? Are staff going on breaks? I don’t care what is going on, I just want a drink. But we got there in the end. We ordered cocktails and at a price points of 10 – 12 Euro these would want to be great cocktails. They were fairly good, but not the best I have ever had. I ordered some sort of an alternative Old Fashioned. It’s my favourite cocktail. I know how they should taste. This was a 7 on a scale of 1 – 10. If I pay 12 Euro for a drink it needs to be perfect. This was not. We left as it was not really the type of place we wanted to stay the night in, but we were curious to check it out nonetheless. It was comfy though and I think would be perfect for afternoon drinks or brunch. Not the best place for a Friday or Saturday night though and the crowd being the type who would be frequenting the likes of 37 Dawson St or Grafton Lounge it is most certainly not my kind of crowd.

So and so, really. I mean nothing bad to say about the food, softshell crab and the hoisin duck steamed bun are truly delicious and I tried the beef carpaccio and was really delicate with unusual and enticing texture. I had the steak and was gorgeous, the pork belly was nice but I don’ get why they put the octopus with it. tastewise does not make any difference… The service is not great. We had at least 5 different people waiting our table and when needed they wouldn’ collect the dirty plates and they left me without cutlery when the main arrived. I had to ask for some after a minu te… The same with the drinks they brought the two drinks in different times… Weird… The inside is beautiful and all but I really felt the majority of the staff didn’ t have a clue of what they were doing. After all I have to say that I enjoyed the food but not the service.

Try the buns! Go try the Buns! It is like Swedish-Korean burgers and your tummy will thank you for this. In general the food is quite experimental and has a lot of flavour. I can see this be a place the generic irish person would avoid because it is to hipster and food has to much flavour. However, if you love food and want to try something new, then this place should be on your list. If you can stand the heat, sit in front of the kitchen and watch the chefs do their magic while you enjoy the meal as it is served. The cocktails and mocktails are great, so you can even bring your non-alcohol friends out for a great evening sipping on colourful and tasty beverages. I also think this is the only place in town that serves vegan ice cream and it is quite tasty! I would throw this in as a suggestion if friends asked where to go for food.

I’ve been here for both dinner and for breakfast — breakfast is nice but I feel like the dishes are a bit same-y. There’s quite a bit of fried items. Dinner items are a bit more unique. I get the asian fusion, not so much feeling the scandinavian part of things. Pork buns — yum! Non-alcholic cocktails(juice things) — AMAZING. For anyone who’s vegan, they also serve Nobo, a coconut based ice cream, for dessert. It can be a bit pricey but I think the atmosphere is nice. I don’t think there’s a need to make a reservation — there’s been plenty of space any time i’ve been here.

I celebrated my Birthday party here as I wanted to try somewhere new, so I made a reservation for a Sunday evening online via email and they replied really fast, like within a day. I was also allowed bring a cake in which was good. It was a Sunday so it was practically empty! It’s quite a newly restaurant and I must say, I loved the atmosphere! It was dim lit, very spacious, had live music with the piano and guitar in the evening, a fantastic bar with some great cool looking cocktails. I would describe it as quite trendy and hip with a modern twist. We found the music a bit loud so it was hard to hear each other, but they sang be happy birthday which was really nice of them! The service overall was pretty good too. The name made me assume that there would be a lot of Swedish or Scandinavian cuisine, but most of the dinner menu was quite Asian, mainly Japanese, Korean and Chinese. We ordered Dim sum, sashimi, gyoza, pot stickers, tempura, salmon carpaccio, kimchi and sweet potato chips which came with wasabi mayo(which was sooo good! even for someone like me who doesn’t like wasabi in general). It was all small tapas portions so we shared everything. Also, I found the presentation of the food to be fantastic, like an art in itself! Overall, the food was excellent and good quality, very creative and came pretty quick too. The only thing is that the portions, especially the mains, are on the small side. Overall: Trendy atmosphere, creative quality food leaning more to the appearance and taste as opposed to portion size, convenient online booking service, nice staff and not overly expensive but not cheap either. It seems perfect for a party or date.

This place has been open a couple of months and the feedback I’ve heard has been good in the main… it’s something totally unique in Dublin — a Scandanavian inspired bar and restaurant area with Asian style dishes. Queen of Deals here got one from Rewarding Times which was amazing value — € 60 for 4 courses for 2 people plus € 30 towards drinks. So off I went a couple of days ago to see what it was all about! The menu is a sharing menu… designed to be tapas style, getting a few bits and sharing around. It’s in sections — one for Raw food, one for Dim Sum, one of Hot Plates, a sides section and lastly steamed buns. Before getting the deal I tweeted them to ask if there would be a veggie option available in each section for me and was assured there was. So I was slightly peeved to ask the waiter and be told there wasn’t and that I should have rang the restaurant. Emmmm… surely whoever is managing the Twitter account should check with the chef if there’s a query like that, no?! I wasn’t impressed so started the meal on a bit of a negative note… the attitude from the waiter didn’t help either. I was told to get a side or a kimchi bun instead of the dim sum and hot plate option — fab… out for dinner for a pile of side dishes! We ordered a bottle of Malbec which was € 29 and absolutely fab — things were picking up! Then we placed our orders. I was with a few friends so we were just going to share a few things around but with me being veggie and one other girl vegan our choices were seriously limited. The non veggies had the King Prawn dumplings(€ 6) from the Dim Sum menu, the Roasted Duck(€ 10) and the Seabass(€ 9) from the hotplates. Us two veggies went for the Kimchi bun each(€ 4), the raw beetroot(€ 7) with no other veggie options at all. Then we shared a few sides which were € 5 each. Service was horrendous to say the least. We waited a good while for our starter part of the kimchi buns and dumplings and then about 50 minutes for the rest of the food to arrive. These are small plate dishes and the place wasn’t even all that busy… there was no apology over the delay or any acknowledgement in the slightest. Twice, members of waiting staff bought over the Hake to us and said we’d ordered it when we hadn’t — then finally admitting it was his handwriting. The sides at € 5 each are really overpriced. € 5 for a small bowl of kale?! The 6 thin slices of raw beetroot at € 7 is robbery. And even the fish and duck dishes which I understand would be pricey anyway, were overpriced for the portion size. The food actually tasted good — I really enjoyed the Kimchi bun and the sweet potato(didn’t get a pic as they were devoured when they finally arrived!) and the other girls enjoyed theirs too. But the bad service really put a dampner on it. And onto dessert! Their dessert options are a selection of dairy free ice cream from NOBÓ. So we ordered 2 pots… and waited about 20 minutes for them to arrive. I mean they are pre-packed ice cream, ready to go straight away — what is a 20 minute wait time all about?! Can’t complain about the ice cream apart from the fact that one was at a temp we could get a spoon through and one was rock hard which proved difficult. At this stage we’d been there hours and I was starting to get agitated so we got the bill and left. With the deal, it was another € 28.50 for the rest of the food. I have got to say that based on this experience I’d be hard pushed to go back here — they do a € 10 lunch deal which I’ve heard is decent so I may try that or Brunch but I certainly wouldn’t sit and pay full prices for an evening meal there.

After reading a rather positive review in the Irish Times we gave this place a try. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome and were seated quickly. Very open and spacious and your not sitting on top of each other. We had a selection of small plates so as yo give everything a try. The scallop ceviche was fresh and zingy, the steamed bun was doughy and soft filled with duck. Add to this the potstickers and the beef our appetites saited but not stuffed. We finished with a cocktail. 88 euro incl wine so good value.

Scandinavian /Asian inspired spot. You’ll find great food, wine and cocktails at this place! The lighting is lovely as is the décor… Oh and the service is pretty decent too as the staff are really nice and they tend to leave you be so there’s no sense of being anyway rushed. We were near the front in a corner seat so had a really great view. You can see into the kitchen too and watch the magic happen which is cool. They brought out a couple of the small plates we ordered together. I’d totally recommend everything we ordered. The scallops, the chicken pot stickers, the duck steamed bun and hot beef with sweet rice :-) The fried sweet potato were also yum! There is a lovely chilled out atmosphere /vibe here. Cocktail wise I’d suggest the Soder Cider :) Upshot of it all is I just loved my evening here and I would definitely recommend a visit here!

This lovely, lively venue, has a fab atmosphere in a gorgeous city centre space. When myself and himself arrived for dinner, there was live music and the place was buzzing with people at the bar, ordering cocktails and small plates of food. We made our way over to the side tables where we were seated for our meal, without a reservation — which was handy. The menu was made up of a stark choice of Asian tapas-style food. We were advised to order 6+ by staff… but I was sated by 4, and good thing too, because 6 would have broken the bank to smithereens. There was little else I would have eaten on the menu, anyway and if you are a veggie, prepare to leave hungry as hell. Overall, what arrived was fine but not in anyway impressive; the non-dairy ice-cream was miserably small and the house wine was pricey but went down easy. I would return any day for the aforementioned wine, or to sample a cocktail — but it would be a long time before I ordered food here again.

I was sad to see the Dragon close down but when I saw what they have done with the place… well, I’m no longer sad. Soder+Ko is seriously buzzing with a great mixed crowd and amazing staff. Friendly(the genuine kind) and quick I think this is the best service I received in Dublin in quite some time. Great cocktails also!

Get in here! It’s got to be the buzziest place in town right now. Went on a Saturday night and it was hopping. Exciting, Asian fusion menu going on with a Korean tapas choice . It will blow you away the flavours and presentation. Staff are chilled and service was good. Head down the back after food for drinks or out to the heated smoking area with rustic cosy feel to it.

I’d passed this place a few times and it looked a bit boring from the outside. Well let me tell you, the cover of this book was a bit misleading because the inside was absolutely beautiful. It had a slightly old fashioned look yet contemporary art pieces and was also slightly new age. Confusing right? The size of the place is huge and it just feels like a good quality but cool place to eat in. Onto the food; I ordered the express fish lunch which was € 14, so definitely on the upper scale for a lunch. It comes out in loads of little bowls and there’s a few different dishes for you to try from prawn dumplings to tuna carpaccio & sauces like oyster sauce & soya for you to dip. No dish is particularly big really but I personally loved this approach, you can go from bowl to bowl trying out the different flavours at your leisure. It’s all beautifully presented and I think the value of it all just about made sense because everything tasted very fresh. Staff were very friendly as well so more bonus points there. When I was going to pay I saw the back of the place and it looks like it has a long bar that goes towards the back so this place also looks like a great place to maybe go for a drink but I’m not sure on beer prices. I’ll update review if I’m back for the dinner menu but you won’t be going wrong if you decide to hit this place for a special lunch.

Visited here last night with a friend. We didn’t have a booking so we sat at the bar rather than one of the small tables, which I read could be awkward, and it was great! Slightly dissappointing first up I ordered a cocktail to be told only 3 on the list(not the classics) list were available, but I was recommended another to try and it was unusual and tasty! We learned after eating from the excellent barman that you can ask for any cocktail and If he has the ingredients he will make it! The food — wow, and I don’t usually say that! We had 5 dishes and 2 sides and while it was a lot, it was just right. The highlights were the braised pork with crab noodle rolls, the divine scallops and the brocolli tempura side. The chicken«pot stickers» were delicious too. I didn’t find the music overly loud or bothersome, but we left at 10.30 as the Dj was setting up, Id like to try it again to see what the late bar is like. Overall I can’t find any fault with the place, we had a lovely meal. Highly recommend it be tried :)

I really liked this place. Went for the lunch combo which I must say is truly visually stunning. Lots of plates of gorgeous colours and artfully constructed food that you know is gonna be a treat for your pallet! It’s interestingly served as well, in different types of plates and bowls, that take up the entire table. Again, it’s gorgeous. Maybe not so practical — I had to balance one on top of the other at one stage, but it’s different anyway! The staff were really on the ball for somewhere that had just opened as well which is always a good sign. The only thing I would say is that the front area seems to have been a little forgotten about décor-wise. The middle and back are definitely more towards the Scandinavian theme, but walking in, I still got very much a ‘pub’ impression. Maybe there is still the same furniture that was in it from the Dragon? As it’s new open, hopefully that might still change. Also the music, as a previous reviewer mentioned, needs to be changed! There has been an awful lot of thought and painstaking detail put into this place — why ruin it with chart style cheese blasting over it all. All in all though, great new spot and I’ll definitely be back.

Lunchers! Word to the wise, while the term«Express Lunch» may conjure up thoughts of plastic boxes, cheap food and sticky sauces — there are none of those things here. The Express Lunch simply means it’ll arrive fast(as its a limited menu) and there are only a few options. You’ll be in and out in your lunch hour without a problem. I opted for the Fish option at 14 euros — which was a true delight. Fresh, flavorful with 2 selections of fish(cod and cured salmon) with several other dishes with broth, veggies and rice. Even some dumplings for good measure! It was a gorgeous lunch, really. The other options are Veggie, Chicken and Beef. All with their own spin. It’s like a very sophisticated bento box — without a box. On a nice board with ceramic dishes. In a speedy fashion. So express lunch in great style — check out Soder + Ko, it’s a treat. *good for groups(HUGE space, former nightclub) *full coffee and tea options available as well as wine, beer, etc.
