Breakfast is OK. I had the croque madame and I would not order it again as it is not really true to the dish. Bread slices are massive and the sausages are just places between the bread slices making it difficult to cut /eat. Not much cheese to the top either. It wasn’t bad just not what I was hoping from a croque madame. I will try the place again and order the avocado toast.

Taste has a really good menu. I liked the sound of it when it was brought over to me. I love when I get excited with so many yummy items on the menu to choose from. I chose the salad plate which meant you could choose meat/other alternatives, 3 salads and a dip. I thought this was a really great idea. The chicken was a little dry but the hummus helped it along. I thought the food tasted good for the price it was. Coffee was lovely too. Could have been a bit warmer inside so we sat with our coats on but a nice cosy experience all the same.

The weather was sunny, so we sat outside and they brought us some water with mint right away. I wasn’t so hungry, so I went for the chicken wings and some garlic mash. Pretty good! But my friend got the black tiger linguini! So fresh! The only downside was the price cause I paid around 15 euro for about 8 pieces of chicken wings and a very small portion of mashed potato! Taste is great Staff are nice and efficient But prices are a bit over the limit. I’ll defiantly be back because of the nice food but not often.

So delicious. My boyfriend and I were wandering around Dublin and ran into this place. I’m so happy we did because it was a great breakfast and I loved that we were able to sit outside in their covered patio.

The taste food co. I don’t have any complaints about their food/service or they spot in general. I ordered a big breakfast and that’s what I got. I was nicely stuffed! However, the brunch market(where I see this spot in) is really competitive. I’m a big fan of Odessa & Herb Street. Value for money. These three are the same however, The taste co looses out for me. Maybe, because the spot is a bit, bland… But, I would still rate the place the number one spot for brunch on South William Street.

Really like taste, good options albeit small portions and inexpensive. It’ll be nice if the staff smiled more or were friendly but sure… Pancakes and syrup — yummy

I signed up for Unilocal just to write this review. Just returned home from my first visit to Dublin. I’ve traveled all over the world and I’ve NEVER had a worse waiter than what i experienced yesterday at this restaurant for lunch. From the moment we sat down the waiter(male, tall, light brown hair) seemed to have a contemptuous disposition towards us. I don’t know if it was because we were women, or Americans, or a perceived unfavorable race but he walked over and asked us, his voice filled with disdain, what we wanted to eat… no greeting, no introducing himself, no niceties whatsoever. My mother and sister ordered food and then I ordered but was intending to pay separate from them. Obviously, I wasn’t intending to to mention this until the check came but then he asked, «is this all together» and of course I thought he meant the bill so I clarified I was paying separate. He gives me a condescending chuckle and said, «no I meant the wings.» I overlooked his obvious attitude and ordered. He walked away not saying thank you or anything. He brought out some bowls with hot water, slammed them down on the table and walked away never saying what they were for. Someone else brought out our waters and food and explained the bowls were to clean our hands after the wings(we have wet wipes in the U.S. so this was new for us and we would’ve appreciated an explanation from our waiter). Since he had someone else bring out our food, we at least thought he’d check on us to make sure everything was to our liking. But that never happened. He NEVER came to check on us and only returned to our table when we had to flag him down and ask where the rest of my order was. Perhaps had he not been so preoccupied in existing in his air of arrogant condescension, he would’ve at least gotten my order right. But he didn’t because half my order was missing and my mother’s order was also incorrect. His lack of remorse was evident in the fact that he never apologized and made no real effort to fix the issue or even be cordial. And on top of that, he didn’t even split the check that he so dismissively laughed at me about in the beginning! Beyond that, the food itself was bland and the menu had limited appetizing options. The service, however, was appallingly rude and left a bitter impression of how people in the Irish service industry treat tourists. I felt personally affronted by the blatant disrespect and careless treatment we received and will be sure to tell ALL my travel blog followers, and ALL my other friends and family who travel frequently, that if they ever find themselves in Dublin, avoid this place like the plague.

Worst service I have received in all my travels. The guy was so rude and he forgot my sisters order and did not even apologize. I don’t know if it was because we are American or because we are the wrong color but it left a stain on Irish hospitality. The food wasn’t even that good.

I loved Taste Café! Wandering the streets of Dublin in the early morning, when everywhere was closed, I was happy to see Taste Café was open. It was so good we went two days in a row! The first day, I got the muesli with fruit which was delicious. You get a huge bowl of muesli with a little side of greek yogurt for 5 euros. The second day, I got the porridge, which was amazing! You get a huge box of condiments to put on it, and the porridge was so, so creamy. Also love the atmosphere and the service. Definitely going here again!

Good, central place for breakfast — they even have a vegetarian option with halloumi which was very nice. Tea is loose leaf, no tea bags! The service is very nice too and we have been here more than once and will likely come back — only deducting one star for the slightly undercooked fries :-)

This place is perfect for dinner. The service was great and food was delicious. They have daily special, which are reasonable price and perfect portion. Appetizers are like size of an entrée, so if you very little just order appetizers us a entrée.

I was nicely impressed by this very busy café for a lunch time meal. The staff were friendly and courteous, the interior and décor were fine, although it was a bit cramped. It had a very homely feel to it. They bring you out a tray of condiments and water with mint in it which are really nice touches, I especially appreciated the tray having olive oil, vinegar & other things to pour on my meal. I ordered the falafel main with sweet potato for € 12. The falafel came out promptly, after maybe 5 minutes at most and it was beautifully presented. It was a delicious dish with plenty of falafel, sour cream, unbelievable sweet potato and some healthy salad greens. I think the falafel was cooked in an oven instead of deep fat fried but I may be wrong, it definitely didn’t taste as oily as some other falafel although it meant it was a little bit dry too(the condiments helped nicely with that) This place seems perfect for a lunch or weekend brunch and I think I’ll definitely be back.

I had to review taste again as this time they let me down big time. I had a chicken caesar salad! Chicken was awfully dry and bland! Not a single pinch of seasoning! The greens were also bland! I could not even taste the Caesar sauce! Very disappointing as am a regular costumer of taste! Could not even finish the salad Maybe salads are not their thing?

Food here is surprisingly fantastic. We went in thinking it would be just another café but the service was friendly and nice, and the food was great. The only reason I’m giving them four stars instead of five is the waitress decided not to write our orders down and memorize them. Unfortunately she forgot the fries(chips for the Europeans). My advice is if you can’t remember everything you might want to write it down.

Taste you have not kept up with your name — TASTE!!! I went for a gluten free chicken melt and caprese salad. The sandwich looked as a younger sibling had shoved it into the oven with lashings of cheese and 2 slivers of chicken, and the salad also left a lot to be desired, with barely any dressing, what it was lacking was taste(pun intended). € 2 extra for some more pesto for my pesto dressing — are you having a laugh? My friends went for the sweet potato & goats cheese salad, baked salmon wrap and chicken wings, and all of us left a large portion on our plates. However, all was not lost as the service is some of the best I’ve experienced. So friendly and attentive. Albeit I came on January 1st and there could have been an air of a hangover wafting from the kitchen, but not a great meal to start 2015!

Really nice spot! I dropped in on a VERY rainy day last week on my break from college, I ordered a latte and the open club sandwich. The latte was fine, served in a tall glass. The sandwich was amazing! Tastes fantastic and looks delicious as well. Presentation of it is great. If you’re like me and you eat with your eyes you’ll love it. Staff were very nice as well and the do take out breakfast stuff as well by the till, all granolas and cereals and yummy stuff like that.

I came here with my mom for Sunday brunch and they had a lot of things on the menu that sounded so good it took me a while to order. I ended up ordering an Eggs Royale(poached eggs and smoked salmon with rye bread), which was sooo good, and my mom ordered a chargrilled salmon wrap, all nicely presented! The eggs were poached so perfectly and the bread was nice and soft. They also have a good number side dishes you can add on at a cheaper price, as well as burgers, wraps, salads and café specials like grilled fish and falafel(I might order that next time!). Prices are around 10−12euro for most things. In terms of service, the staff were very attentive and friendly, and seemed to be very well trained. The girl didn’t even write our orders down but everything came just as we’d asked; sauce on the side and all! The food also came out pretty quick, like after 10 minutes or so. The coffee was really nice, and they do soya milk too which was great! I liked the atmosphere, and the outdoor seating is great on sunny days. They also have a heater when it’s chilly. Overall, great food, great coffee and excellent service at reasonable prices!

Very good spot for weekend brunch. I got the croque Madame and was amazed from the look of it as you’ll see in the photo. Problem is they are skimpy on the bacon and sausage in it, only one of each which was disappointing given it’s potential. Service was very good and the brunch came quickly so it was decent value. Could have been better though so only giving 3 stars.

I stumbled in on Sunday a little worse for wear from over indulging on Saturday night. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and they had lots of Sunday newspapers to distract me while I waited for the cure ! The cure came in the form of eggs benedict which was cooked to perfection. Could maybe have done with a few home fries or something on the side but the portion was very generous. The staff were super friendly and very speedy. I would definitely come back again for break fast
