If you like the diabetes than this is the place to go. The tea and service were delightful.

Lovely Afternoon Tea! J and I came here a few weekends ago and the whole experience was quite nice. The savoury sandwiches had good flavours and the bread tasted freshly baked.
Next we enjoyed the tea brack and scones, which were also tasty. By the time we were ready for the sweets I was mostly full, but I still managed to put down two of them! I loved the chocolate dessert; liked the financier and the macaron; and could pass on the gelatin and whipped cream one.
The atmosphere is a bit stuffy but that is to be expected at such a nice and long-​standing establishment as the Shelbourne. Great for ladies but I don’t think J will be rushing back :)

The Lord Mayor would be proud — located in the Shelbourne Hotel, this is probably the fanciest high-​end afternoon tea in Dublin! It comes with a bit of a price tag but worth the experience at least once.
The room is gorgeous and very upscale. Intimate settings for two to twelve are scattered throughout the lounge. There’s also a grand piano which complements the whole experience.
From start to finish — sandwiches, scones, sweets — it’s delicous and you will likely need to be rolled outta there…
Throw in another ten euro if you want to pull out all the stops and enjoy some bubbly with your blackberry mousse — ah, why not at this point?!
Here’s to getting a litte fancy now and then!
