The whole kit and caboodle! Everything! Food! Drink! Service! Music! Crowd! Walking hither and yon in Temple Bar after a few days and you begin to get a sense of what and where, and this place called like a Siren. They found us a place to sit and the music was filling the room and the smiles were beaming and a pint or three later all of my Irish ancestry is in the room and I am loving it! Enjoy!

The seafood chowder was delicious, had the Steak last time and the garlic mussels the second visit, all worth trying. We had the best staff. Rachel gave us tips on our travels to the Cliffs of Moher and Fiona, the princess was sweet.

I loved this restaurant. The food was Irish but less heavy than many of the other Irish dishes I tried during my stay. The staff was friendly and provided great suggestions. There was also a fantastic Irish band playing in the bar downstairs! I ended up buying their CD!

Cool and fair priced pub in temple bar. If you are going for bar food though, don’t come here. It’s rather disappointing in variety and quality compared to most other pubs.

Picked a pub at random walking through Temple Bar on a Monday night. The beer selection was great, but I am guessing that is not a standout in this area. Bartender was inattentive, more concerned about rolling a cigarette than bar tending. Staff was more interested in chatting with each other than offering service. With so many pubs to choose from nearby, I doubt I will try this one again.

Good pub in the temple bar area. Didn’t try the food but they have a wide selection of beers.

Easily the worst restaurant we ate at during our time in Dublin. The food was subpar. The fish and chips were soggy and almost soup like. Our waitress failed to even acknowledge us unless we flagged her down and the bartender(while sitting at the bar in uniform) refused to help patrons as the restaurant became busy. Don’t waste your time. There are plenty of other great options in Temple Bar.

Nice environment and interesting history. The food was delicious(I had lentil soup and brown bread). The musician was talented, but our waitress was horrible! She didn’t know the menu, couldn’t recommend any beers and then ignored what I ordered. Would be willing to give it another try with a different waitress.

Ok, it’s in Temple Bar But it doesn’t give off the«I’m having my Stag party in Dublin woohoo!!111“vibe some other places have Yeah, it is usually full(but not up to overflowing levels), there was a nice band playing, etc It’s a nice pick in the area(of course pints are more expensive, still…)

We have been staying in Dublin for a few days now and have returned to the Norseman more than anywhere else! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is perfect! Make sure to sit on the first floor so you can enjoy the music and food without the bar crowd. Wonderful place!

As per the usual in Dublin’s city centre, the service was shoddy, but the food was good. Don’t expect a smile or attentiveness from the bartenders or the managers. I will say, however, that the drinks are pretty good, and with a heavy pour(I like that). Also, it’s a good place to people-watch(at least in the warmer months, when the windows are opened; I was there in the first week of June). Like I said earlier, the food was good, except for the soda bread. I think they’d had it sitting up on the bar behind some whiskey bottles for a few days.

Where did the craft beer go folks? The blackboard is gone the micro brewery taps vanished. All the things that made you stand apart in a pool of mediocrity has just gone shame.

We have been here for a beer during our short pub crawl. To be honest I thought all pubs were similar here in Dublin but, it is not! We took a pint of beer and we spent time there with funny Irish people. This is a bit expensive but, you pay for the position!

The manager at this pub was utterly rude and unwelcoming and I would not recommend anyone gives their business here! We arrived at the pub towards the end of a big rugby match hoping to catch the end and then move on upstairs for a meal. Since I am recovering from a kidney infection I didn’t order a drink upon arrival but received many rude looks from the manager behind the bar. As soon as the game finished he approached my group, asked where we were from and told us that«it’s the most frustrating f****** thing when people don’t order drinks» and that we’d have to leave if we didn’t buy drinks. He could have offered us drinks or recommended something but instead got angry, not giving us a chance to explain we were planning on staying for a meal. I’ve been living in Dublin for 6 months and have never experienced this, do not waste your time or money here! There are so many other wonderful pubs in Dublin that are more deserving!

A really good pub and much less touristy than some of the others we visited, the best selection of Irish whiskey I had ever seen in my life and a knowledgeable and helpful young man behind the bar to aid me in my choice! I had a glass of paddy’s and then a glass of redbreast, redbreast is amazing and it became my favourite drink whilst in Ireland, I’m not sure how easy it will be to find now I’m back home. The Norseman also carry a huge range of Irish beers, now I am not much of a beer drinker, but my husband had a pint of local brew and said it was nice. Very friendly, as is everywhere in Ireland and as I said to start this review, much less touristy and with a nice friendly atmosphere, it’s somewhere I recommend if you want a drink.

Absolutely great pub! It has a real, ‘local’ atmosphere, which is pretty rare in this hood! Service is quick, friendly and ooooooh you craft beer and micro brewery lovers: you’ll absolutely ADORE this place… So many fantastic beers on draught! Do do do go for the local Blonde, but seriously — I don’t think you can go wrong here with any beer. Fan of football? They have several screens to watch the match and they have the actual sound. Not just visuals and music playing in the background. Which I find a BIG plus, ’cause really, who doesn’t want to listen to the comments and the excitement of the actual game?! I find it weird to watch it without but hey, that’s just me. And what do you do when you have your pint & football? You order the burger… Not just any burger — the Viking Burger! AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRR [add your own roar sound effect]. The burger was nice! Not the best burger in my life, but hey — I’m a burgerista and it was absolutely tasty. So no complaints here! After the match, they had live music. The bloke was actually pretty good and gave… Gave… How to describe it? A cosy, ‘homely’ atmosphere in de bar. Chatting with colleagues, having more beers. Absolutely a nice evening and again — local feel to it. It was also pretty quiet so enough places to sit and hang out. However, I have NO idea how it would be on a Friday or Saturday night. Place might be buzzin’ and suuuuuuper busy so don’t hold me to this one. So for all you football, burger and beer lovers — go go GO team GO and enjoy this bar to watch the game!

On a trouvé notre bonheur ici !

We were so delighted with this place! The good was delicious, the beer selection was very impressive(~38 taps, 28 of them craft beers, including some IPAs), good live music 7 nights a week — plus we rented a room for two nights and that was great as well. This place is right in the heart of the Temple Bar action and is easy to spot with its lovely real color. The staff are friendly(especially Barry and Simon!) and service is quick. Our room was ready two hours before we were told it would be, which was music to our weary travelers’ ears. If you like seafood, try the chowder and the classic seafood pie. I ordered the latter two days in a row because it was so amazing. Our room was secure and clean with an excellent shower and comfortable bed. The windows looked out on the action below. The sound did come through pretty clearly from outside, but I enjoyed the lively atmosphere. Run, don’t walk here, and tell Barry I sent ya! FYI, this place apparently used to be called Ferringtons.

I can’t say enough good things about this pub! I’ve never gotten the food, but the drinks and service are by far some of the best in Dublin! Darragh is the one of the best bar tenders you could ask for! Friendly, funny, and seems like a genuinely great guy — even when it’s a busy Friday night. Again, I’ve never tried the food, so I can only speak for the drinks and wonderful servers/bartenders that work there!
