When I was naught but a lad, I used to get donuts from this place whenever I could. I recently went back here for the first time in years and it was as good as I remember. If you get them straight out of the fryer they are nice and hot; crispy on the outside and gooey in the middle. Its € 4 for 6 donuts. Makes for a nice unhealthy snack when your walking around town.

These doughnut’s are cheap and fresh. This place will make you very happy and if you visit it frequently also — very fat. The place only sells doughnuts to go, perfect for bringing home after long day or getting them for tea party at your friend’s house.

When I first went here they used to do 6 donuts for a Punt. This place was around before Dunkin arrived, provided a simpler offering and survived after they sank. It’s a donut; don’t try and complicate something that is beautiful in it’s simplicity. A ring, fresh from the oil, rolled in sugar or maybe with a bit of chocolate. My wife worked in Dunkin Donuts in the mid 90’s. Some americans came into the shop, looked at the 50 odd types of donuts and the husband said: «They don’t have much of a selection, Honey». I sh1t you not! Guys, the secret of successful Donutry can be found at the Rolling Donut, the kiosk that has been here well over 20 years: Hot fresh donut in sugar. You’d think they all would have copped on by now! Some people never learn.

I don’t like donuts. They’re usually so sweet and fatty that it produces an almost unpleasant sensation on the tongue. When Krispy Kreme was the rage 15 years(god I feel old) ago, I never got it. These donuts, though… These are positively sublime. When fresh(and even after a bit of time in the break room) they have a crispy outer crust that gives under just the right amount of tooth pressure to reveal a warm, light, doughy interior that is an utter delight. Easily the best donut I have ever had.

Best doughnuts in Dublin; truly irresistible. Haven’t been in years, think I’ll be paying a visit tomorrow. In fact, I know it.

Until I saw this Unilocal listing, I’d never paid enough attention to this place to take note of its name. Like an addict scoring, I tended to shuffle up, clutching some change, snatch some of their addictive donuts and skulk away to be alone with the sugar-rush. This is «Jason Statham action movie» food, everything about it should be terrible, and yet… I think if I passed here everyday, I’d get sick of it quickly, but as an occasional treat, it’s great.

confortably sweet, and soft, warm! also very reasonable price! at first when my friend proposed me to eat donuts, I did not expect its quality, but later I had to apology to him. this is truly a donuts, but rather a sweets-like bread, with really good sweetness. only one thing that I did not like was its topping surger. for me a little too sweet. anyway, it’s more amazing than you imagine from the price.

Stark white, blue letters, and the smell of sugar/cinnamon and fried dough drifting from the teenytiny window; where a constant blur of hands exchanged money and dough. I talked my hesitant traveling companion to stand in line with my 60cents and buy me a sugar doughnut, while I stood in the ATM line. The doughnut line moves faster than the ATM line, while I was one person away from the machine, my traveling companion pulled up with a sugar coated cake doughnut. Never did I imagine that when I sunk my teeth into it that it would be warm, but it was. It was soft with crispy edges. Not cloyingly sweet, but just enough granulated sugar to satisfy any sweet tooth.

Nobody seems quite sure just how long this place has been there, but it is undoubtedly an institution. The chocolate ones are nothing to write home about(or to eh… write to Unilocal about) but the sugar rush can not be beaten. On occasion, it can resemble a drop in centre, with a good 10⁄12 Dubliners lining up for donuts. Being short-sighted I always presume it’s an ATM waiting line, but alas… It’s not good for you, but what is anymore? A rare and deserved treat!

This place is absolutely torturous. Every time I walk by it takes every fiber in my being to resist stopping off and getting a doughnut! Or a couple of doughnuts! The reason being? There is just the most amazing, delicious smell wafting from the kiosk. The smell of a bit of sweetness, a bit of fried dough. What makes it even harder to resist is that they’re dead cheap, all you’ve got to do is rustle up some loose change in the bottom of your bag and that warm deliciousness is yours! Definitely hits the spot if you’re looking for a taste of sweetness!

I am craving donuts writing this review. any time i walk down O’Connell street i cannot walk on the right hand side of the street when heading away from the Liffey. Why, you may ask? well thats where the doughnut stand is. Its delicious smells waft all around it and fly up your nostrils and set off some kind of frenzied craving in your brain that send signals to your tummy that start gurling with anticipation of what might be coming. These doughuts are irresistable. i mean they are bits of dough dunked in boiing oil which are then covered in sugar, i mean i should not like these, they are bad for me! why does my brain not know? right, im sorry, i have to stop writing about this place, its equally as dangerous… could set off a major mission to go get a doughnunt!

Whether you’re in a hurry to work, coming from a pub or sauntering on your day off, the Donut Kiosk on O’Connell Street is an excellent pit stop. Inside the little glass hut, a single worker fries these fatty treats to perfection. There’s only two options(sugary or chocolate) but that’s all you need. Ask anyone in Dublin and they’ll swear that this food stand has been around since they were a little kid. Prices are cheap too: 60 cents for 1 or 3 Euro for 6. You can’t go wrong with these tasty snacks.
