I started going here after modelling for them for the L’Oreal colour awards, and they were great at colouring and cutting all kinds of styles. I never used to dye my hair before or cut it short, but have grown to love bob cuts and colouring after modelling for them. The stylists here are very skilled, they don’t pull and nag your hair like some cheap salons do, and the staff are friendly and professional. This is also one of those salons that actually do what you want, unlike some salons where I’ve been to that told me that for«fashion colour» I would have to make a separate appointment as it’s different from regular colour(?), or that they can’t colour black hair etc. and all that nonsense. The prices are reasonable but are obviously a reflection of the brand. It can be really busy on the later half of the week, so I usually try go for monday or tuesday mornings to get full attention instead of being rushed through. It’s also by appointment, I don’t think you can get a walk-in service.

I came here because they give a good discounts during the day, and also have a student discount. I scheduled an appointment in the morning for the same afternoon, with no problem. Given, it was a weekday, so I’m sure that it gets much busier on the weekend. It was my first time there, so I left my apartment a bit early because I wasn’t sure exactly where the salon was, and got in about 15 minutes early, fully expecting to just wait for 10 – 15 minutes for my scheduled appointment. They were very courteous, and since I was early, they also offered to do a conditioning treatment for free, while my stylist was finishing up her current customer. A very pleasant surprise! The treatment was really great, although typically when I get my hair shampooed at a salon, I’m used to them also slowly massaging my scalp. The woman who did mine was a bit rough instead of soothing, so I guess that brings down my star rating by one! Hair stylist was really friendly, was great with the cut — I have really long hair, and so only like to cut the minimal required to get the bad ends off. I always get nervous that they will take too much — she did a great job, doing exactly what I wanted. All in all, a great experience and I will likely continue to get my hair cut here :)

I’ll cut to the chase-First trip to T&G-will not be returning. I was happy with my hair when I was leaving so nothing against the lovely girl who coloured my hair and lovely girl who blow dried it. I arrived at 3.20pm, promptly marched down to my seat with no introductions or offer for tea/coffee/magazine. I was literally gowned up, plonked in my chair and was left that way for 25 minutes. I was about to get up and just leave when my colourist came over and she at least apologised for the delay. Nicola did a good job on my hair as I said but I was disappointed in the overall T&G experience. In that particular area of town(Dublin 2) there are so many hair salons that its essential you treat your clients with respect to ensure they return! This will not be the case for me and I wont be recommending to any of my friends!

I have had my hair cut here many times and had a few blow drys in the past year. My experience has always been great. The staff are friendly and capable. They listen to what you want and wordplay hard to create a style you can manage at home. They are fast and the results have always been great. Be sure to make a reservation and pick up a point card if you become a frequent customer.

Came here with a Grab One Deal meaning I got some special treatment when they were washing my hair – I clearly did not know and they did not explain. Did exactly what I said and did not waste time, so A+ there

Now not that I’m a diva about my hair, but sucked in by the established brand, I have entered the Toni & Guy salon on a couple of occasions for a cut. It’s a busy place with a kind of businessy attitude absent in your local hair joint. On this basis, it’s certainly better not to be late for your appointment. They log their clients on the system too, so not showing up may also be a wrong move. But despite these evident traits of a well-oiled enterprise, the staff are pleasant, personable and most importantly good with hair. The levels of hairdresser are tiered from apprentice to artistic director, and the fee per appointment soars the higher you climb. But in my experience(having chosen the hairdressers at the lowest rung of the Toni & Guy food chain, ie. the cheapest on offer) the staff are trained well, they know what looks good on people, and they are always very au fait with the latest styles and trends. You pay for their experience(even at the lowest rung) and you pay for the name, but you’re in safe hands if you’re looking for a new style to sort out your barnet.
