We were craving a kebab and found this place on Unilocal as it said that this was the best place. Based on how crowded it was and the line, it must be. They have a wide variety of kebabs(chicken, beef and lamb) as well as grilled meats. We ordered at the cashier and got our food within 10 – 15 min. We took our food to go but you can eat there as they have many tables. The kebab was delicious with fresh vegetables, great sauce and great seasoning on the meat. There’s not much else that you could ask for. Definitely a place for a quick or cheap meal and definitely more than just drunk food.

This place was poppin for late night food. My wife and I stopped in around midnight and got the house special chicken thing.(Sorry i don’t remember the given name) this is the first time either of us had eaten Iranian/Persian food. It did not disappoint. Great late night flavors and friendly quick staff

Staff is kind of gruff, but they really went through a lot of trouble to help my disabled wife find an accessible table. We had lamb and chicken(separately) donners(a Persian gyro).

I remember this place when I stayed at the hotel across the street from it in 2009. I love Ireland, but I find British/Irish food bland. Zaytoon was a refreshing escape and I loved the spices and aromas. Their kebabs were tender and the bread was great. I felt lucky to be staying across the street from it my entire vacation. I went in there as often as I could.

This is not just drunk food, it’s the best kebab you can have in Dublin

When you order a small lamb kebab with no menu and you still struggle to finish it because your tiny body can’t take any more food but it is so delicious that you would rather spend the next three hours growling in your sofa because you can’t move just yet than leaving it for later when you know it won’t be the same… that’s what I call a great deal. Already daydreaming with my next visit to Zaytoon…

Inexpensive and oh so tasty! Some people will tell you that you should only go to Zaytoon when you’re drunk but I respectfully disagree. I always get either the salmon or the chicken shish which are both cooked to order. I normally have mine with rice but their flat bread is made in-house and freshly baked. The portions are massive even if you get a small kebab rather than a regular one. Having that option is great if you don’t have a monster appetite. I’ll admit that the seating area is a bit grim but seats facing the windows are brilliant for people watching. They also do a great lunch deal. Good value for money!

Love this place. Food is fresh and full of flavor. The kitchen is open and they prepare the food right in your sight. My husband and I usually get the platter for two. I really enjoy all the selections of meat, I think my favorite is the chicken though. The flat bread is delicious.

Had my first ever kebab. I got the chicken doner with all the bits and bobs. It was out of this world! Made me question why the hell it’d taken me so long to have one. Chips were nice also. Staff were really sweet and quick. Had a good laugh with them while waiting. Definitely a great first kebab experience haha

Food was amazing– the meat was tender and the flavor was perfect. Unfortunately the customer service was the opposite. Very rude man running the till and copped and attitude with me for taking too long to order when their credit card machine was not working and therefor my card was taking awhile to process. Would have been a five star review had the man pulled the kebab out of his ass and saved his bad attitude for someone who deserves it.

Best falafel place ever. Lunch menu is between 12 and 3, Monday to Wednesday, during these times all dishes come with free chips and drink. Went for the falafel option and paid 6 Euro in total. Staff is totally friendly and atmosphere is great. Lots of other dishes like kebabs etc. for those who prefer meaty options.

I’ve never written a review on Unilocal before but my experience at Zaytoon was just so spectacular that I needed to find an outlet to express my utmost satisfaction. If you are in Dublin, do yourself a favor and hit up this truly incredible establishment — you will not be disappointed. It all began during a walking tour from a local who vouched for Zaytoon as the best kebab in Dublin. ‘Best kebab’ I thought, what could that really mean? As some backstory, I am an American studying in Budapest and have had more than my fair share of late-night-kebabs. Now what’s important to note is that late night options in Budapest are nearly nonexistent outside of the Turkish specialty and so I am often selling my soul to one of the numerous outlets offering this dish due to the unyielding persuasion of alcohol induced hunger. Now whether I remember purchasing the kebab or not, I always end up hating myself come the next morning. Back in Dublin, it’s 4:00am and I have already satisfied my late night hunger in the form of an inadequate and overdone crispy chicken sandwich. On the journey back to my hostel, I recognize Zaytoon, recall my tour guide’s earlier enthusiasm, and hesitate. I think to myself: Is it really worth it? You’re already going to hate yourself from that pathetic chicken sandwich, this would just be overdoing it. As I stand there in contemplation, a couple walks out and must have read my face for they too stop and vouch for Zaytoon’s utter perfection. If it was good enough for these two locals to leave their home at 4 in the morning, take a cab both directions just to grab a bite, then it was worthy of being my third dinner. Words cannot even begin to describe what ensued. The service, impeccable. The prices, fair. The food, Oh. My. God. The chicken shish is perfectly seasoned with a delectable sauce and just the right hint of saffron. The vegetables are fresh and crisp giving the dish the perfect balance of ingredients. And the pita, where to even begin? So soft yet splendidly substantive, it provides the perfect foundation for a culmination of culinary expertise that can be rivaled by few. The most impressive feat, however, is that not only did I not hate myself for consuming a third dinner, but I actually walked out in sheer bliss. I don’t know how else to describe the feeling of contentment other than what I assume one would feel after shooting heroin. All I can say is well done, Zaytoon, well done. I don’t know how you did it but you have successfully convinced me that there is a god and its only intercommunication with our mortal world is through your one-of-a-kind kebabs.

Looking for that late night spot! Found it! But the best part is, I’m sober right now and it is still amazingly delicious!!! Here from SF, CAUSA, been running around Spain for a week and needed something not Spanish. Fresh off the plane, checked into the hotel, what do I see? PERSIAN! Yes please!!! Prices are cheap, service is super quick, and boy is it amazing. The bread is freshly baked in the clay oven, tons of toppings, delicious flavors… Oh party in my mouth. Got the Lamb Donner, with chips and fresh OJ. Yes please, and thank you. Stop reading and go do it.

This is a smaller version of the Camden Street restaurant. It is still the same great food. Everything is fresh, and tasty. My husband and I always share the platter for two. Such a deal for € 22. There is no alcohol served here, they have a variety of soda and bottled water. That definitely does not steer us away from the delicious food. They also offer local delivery and catering.

I’m giving Zaytoon 5 stars, I don’t care! Lol. It’s my go to place for a kebab in Dublin and I enjoy a thoroughly decent, fresh meal everytime. And unlike Iskander’s you don’t have to have a few beverages to enjoy it. No competition between the two in my opinion, Zaytoon wins hands down.

Don’t let the late night clientele of this joint put you off! The food in here is great for soakage, but its also very tasty. Its great for a cheap, filling lunch during the day too. All their bread and hummus is made fresh on site, and it tastes like it too. My weakness is for the bread and hummus plate for € 4, especially when the bread is fresh and warm from the oven! I also highly recommend the veggie kebab and falafel plates — lovely, generous portions of veg and salad. My meat eating friends love this place as much as I do. The décor isn’t what makes this place by any stretch of the imagination, its rough around the edges and functional, but the staff are usually friendly and cheerful. Its tasty, and if you need good food fast, but far enough away from the madding crowds of central temple bar, this is the place to go!

Well, who can say a bad word about Zaytoons … not much extra I can add here as most people hit the nail on the head with the reviews so I’ll just follow suit… But wow! If you like kebabs… Then this is just one up from a kebab… actually five up from a kebab… I like to call it a «fancy» kebab :-P as usually I tend to only eat kebabs when I’m drunk at 3 in the morning or I’m very hunger over and need a dirty feed ! But this kebab doesn’t have the effect on you like most kebabs do. It doesn’t leave you bloated and feeling«bew you had to much grease»… it sits very lightly on your stomach after… super fresh salad… good meat… None of this scaldy«fake» stuff… Mon– Wed they do a free chips and a soft drink with every meal at lunch time… Why would you not come here ?! Another cheap and quick spot for lunch!!! I’m only knocking a star off because I don’t like the décor or inside its not exactly«warm» but that’s only my personal opinion and it really only deserves a half a star but obviously there is no option to do that here… so this should have a 4.5 star rating… Go in ., order at the till, take your receipt, wait for your number to be called then go on up and collect simple as…

One of the best things about late nights in most European cities is the inevitable kebab at the end of the night. Zaytoon was located only two blocks from my hotel in Temple Bar, Dublin which made it an exceptionally simple grab and go. They offer two sizes of sandwich with either lamb, chicken or a combo. The meal includes an order of french fries and a can of soda. Could a drunken girl want anything more? I ordered the small combo with fries. Well, actually more like I ordered a large instead of an XL combo. The portion size is quite large which is good considering it was nearly 8 Euro for the smaller and 12 for the larger. The sauces, as usual, were divine but I personally would opt out of the red cabbage next time. Its just not my thing. The service was incredibly speedy and we were out the door in less than 10 minutes. There is a large seating area if you wish to stay before heading to the next drinking stop. Wi-fi is free and unpasscoded for use in house(or next door if you’re in a neighboring bar). This is a great stop for a quick and messy bite late night in Temple Bar.

Delicious and filling. Best kebabs in Dublin. Sociable opening hours so when you’re out on the lash you can get a good feed but the ingredients are high quality and tasty so perfect when sober too. Two sizes available so all appetites are catered for. Personal favourite: chicken shush kebab. That said, I can’t fault any of the dishes. You just can’t go wrong. Tasty veggie option too

Wasn’t exactly what we were expecting. We came in expecting kebab-and-basmati-rice plates but got pita sandwiches, which was disappointing. I had the koobideh kebab, which is ground meat and onion formed on a skewer. It was served with olives, a couple salads, a couple sauces, on top of a pita, with chips on the side and a canned soda. It was tasty enough. Service was unremarkable — you place your order at the counter and retrieve it when your number is called.
