A lovely little Mexican restaurant in dundrum. This is so good. The food is brilliant the staff ARETHEKINDESTOFALL they never forget you. This is such a well run restaurant it deserves top marks in every category. You should give it a try. ITSAMAZING. The kids meal is great value for money. Make a booking. Even if you don’t they will always try their best. When I went the place was full but they were so nice and got us a table very quickly originally they said 30mins but 10mins later they freed up a table

I’ve been here a few times but if this review had a title it would be «Hit & Miss» I LOVE good Mexican food(who doesn’t!?) and while Cortina’s is capable of serving up some top notch dishes, there isn’t the consistency needed to to make this a must go. What they do right: A huge drinks menu with a good choice of beers, cocktails and even a Mexican Chardonnay I recommend! Lots of tasty starters to choose from but the 12 salsa dip selection with nacho refills is superb. Dips are laid out from yogurt mild to habanero hot and it’s just good fun to go from one to the next while chatting with friends. What they do wrong: No booking unless it’s a large party. Personally I like booking a table knowing that if I want to go for a pre-dinner drink that I can arrive and be seated right away. That’s not the case here. Although we were after 10 minutes we were just looking for a table for 2. If it was a table for 3 or 4 the wait could be quite a bit longer. The mains :( At € 16 I’d nearly expect the burrito to be fed to me! Seriously though, I’ve had better take out burritos for less than half the price. It’s served with 3small sides: rice, black beans and some type of corn mash. I can taste that the individual ingredients are good quality and fresh but there’s nothing that really brings them all together. That said, I do recall really enjoying it, hence the title«Hit & Miss» If you’re in Dundrum Town Centre and fancy some Mexican food, it’s your only choice. It may be good, it may not. If you’re easy, the Port House opposite is a great spot for Tapas but I’ll have to leave that for another review.

First time in this Mexican restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Had the chicken fajita nachos for starters which was gorgeous!!! Then the chorizo salad for mains, which was also lovely just a bit too oily for my likings. All and all had a great meal in a lovely environment

Went here for lunch which was needed after working up an appetite doing Christmas sales shopping. There was a queue of people in front of us which is usually a good sign albeit annoying. We were however seated quickly and given menus to peruse. The interior of Cortinas is quirky. A bottle of tequila on every table. Very tempting indeed! We ordered the burrito and spinach salad with chicken. I am told by the other half the burrito was very good. The salad I had was filled with lots of juicy pieces of chicken with a tasty marinade. Two good mains so looking forward to coming back to try more things.

The place is nice, the food is good but the service not really! We ordered different starters and all were good and the soup with vegetables and tortilla chips was great. My main was Vegetarian fajita which i would give 8⁄10. and the drinks are great there. The only problem was the waitress who served us very rude, other than that it’s good.

I’m a big fan of Mexican food and this did not disappoint. I had the Fajitas with lamb and it was cooked to perfection. The fillings were delicious — the red rice and salsa roja particularly good. It’s possibly a little bit expensive but that could just be down to where it is located. The only real downside I can think of is that the table are super squashed up and you are basically sitting with another couple(or two couples) so a touch annoying if you were here on a special occasion but was fine. I didn’t have time for dessert but it smelt amazing. Definitely will be visiting again.

A bit pricey but the food is fresh tasty and authentic. And they refill you on their homemade nachos which is a plus :) my boyfriend and I got brave and ordered the ghost wings and we had to sign some sort of contract before eating them… which is impossible! I could barely stand one bite. Would be fun to go as a group and have tequila shots and then give the wings another go ;)

Really enjoyed myself here ! Bit pricey but food is great ! I ordered a burrito for main. it was about € 16.50 ! they do a choice of steak, chicken or pork filling… then they do grilled veg and cheese and such with it — the usual burrito fillings !!! … it comes with a side(choice of pinto or black beans) … You cant leave here without trying one of their cocktails … they do a wide range of margaritas … i ordered a cucumber one(which was certainly different) and my boyfriend ordered a mango one ! … ill defo be back here so i can work my way through the menu ! … trendy décor too

I never liked Mexican food. This place made me change my mind. Firstly, can we comment on how awesome looking the bar is? And those Mexican skulls. they are pretty cool! But onto the food. obviously went for chickens wings to start(medium chipotle) which were extremely spicy for a medium, but juicy and moorish all the same! Moving onto the main, I went for a salad(can’t remember the name) but it consisted of fresh spinach leaves, red onions, roasted garlic, honey dressing and medium rare beef strips. Nom. I didn’t opt for a dessert as I didn’t want to overdo it, but the couple beside us had an amazing looking icecream that was served in a martini glass, it looked delish! I’ll defiantly be leaving room for that next time!

Really lovely place to go and get some tasty tasty Mexican food. Their lunch deal is great value only € 10 for a good feed and refillable drinks. Love their chicken quesadillas and prawn tacos. For spice lovers they also offer ’”ghost chili wings” — so spicy you have to sign a waiver! Wouldn’t recommend the coffee, but they have great cocktails.

Wasn’t mad on this place. We had fajitas and tortilla chips and salsa. The chips were quite stale and really tasted like out-of-bag quality. The fajitas featured dry chicken and cold vegetables. In normal cases the plate would be sizzling. Drinks were very small. Really poor The service was average. After being presented with the fajitas the side plates didn’t arrive for another 5 mins. I won’t be going back. Very sub-standard Mexican food

Decided on this place purely cause they have a separate menu with gluten-free options and wow am I happy to have a friend that’s gluten intolerant. The good was lovely and the atmosphere very nice. As a starter I had the quesedillas with chorizo which were very tasty and a as a starter should made me more hungry. My friend opted for the Ghost wings with a HUGE warning regarding their hotness, he even had to sigh a waiver before they would serve them to him — surely just a gimick right? Nope, nope, nope… Ghost wings 1 my friend 0. He barely took one bite and then said he couldn’t eat them and this is somebody who frequently eats very spicy food. Staff was kind enough to offer a doggy bag but he was ok: D As a main course I had chicken enchilladas, there was a nice serving and a great taste. Don’t ask me how but the chicken had a texture that made me think of tuna but as it tasted like chicken I assumed it was just that. My friend went for the less spicy option of salmon which he really liked. This is where we should have stopped, nicely full and contented but no, we got greedy and decided on dessert. Both of us got the tequila, lime and mango sorbet — it was a nice fresh way to finish of a great meal before rolling out from the restaurant. We will defenitely be back!

The restaurant is nice and clean, staff was very friendly, seating was too close together for my comfort. Now most of you are going to hate my review but please hold on, I need to say I’m from Southern California where we have the best Mexican food outside of Mexico. It’s spicy, flavorful, & wonderful. All pseudo Mexican food in Ireland is Bland & Blah. It is very tasteless. Cortinas is no exception. I will not be eating here or any other fake Mexican restaurant again. It’s just too disappointing. If Mexico wasn’t so dangerous I would tell you to take a trip there and try the real thing.

Honestly I can’t see how anyone could diss this place. I’m gonna jump right in and tell give you my main reason for the ultimate loveage. Condiments. I love them. Any type of sauce, and ya got me. Now in Cortinas, if you buy their nacho chips, you get — wait for it — FOURTEEN sauces with them, if you go for the salsa sampler. 14!!! They are arranged along a board from mild to hot, and they are honestly all completely amazing. You get free refills of chips as you go round the board scooping up the good stuff. Oh and the chips are all freshly made there too. Right, once the important stuff is done, allow me to continue. Burritos. Massive, fresh ingredients, loooads of cheese, and, in the one I picked, fresh prawns. Prawns!!! Oh yes. Yes indeed. Tequilla. They have something like 1,387 types in there. Ok not that much, but nearly. It ranges from your standard value tequila to the really good stuff, we’re talkin 40 yoyos a shot. Needless to say, I didn’t manage to try this particular brand, but if you are in the area and fancy some boozes with some really good food, I suggest giving Cortina’s a go. To be honest, more people need to know about this place. It’s brilliantly decorated and both food and drink menus have been painstakingly put together to reflect genuine Mexican cuisine(the chefs are all Mexican and the owner flies over and back once a year to find out what else is happening over there that he can take back with him). It’s a restaurant with heart, with amazing food and drink to boot. What more could you want?!

Tasty Mexican food can be hard to come by, Cortina’s is delicious well everything we have tried there so far is anyway! Its not quite Tex Mex and not quite authentic. Somewhere inbetween offering the good bits from both. The food was very fresh when we were there and so tasty. Add to that a great liquor bar and handy location in Dun Drum its worth a visit. I’ll be going back soon to make sure it wasn’t a one off but on this visit it gets five stars from me.

We had tried a few of the eateries in the Pembroke District but today we wanted to try something new. We opted for Cortina’s and what a lovely Mexican dining experience we had here. We ordered one tapas dish to share as a starter. Then for mains I opted for another tapas dish and my partner went for a proper main. While waiting for our starter we checked in on the Unilocal app and found that we could get a free Margarita with any main course as a check in offer — score! My partner gave me his free drink to me — double score! I went for a blended Margarita with salt and it was lush. So good I ordered another one when I was finished the first. Back to the food, the starter we had was the tapas dish Totopos con Chile, to which we added an extra topping of beef. It was delicious. It was like no other dressed nachos we’ve ever had before. It was more authentic Mexican instead of TexMex. My main was the deep fried boldness called Flautas de Pollo, three crispy chicken and cheese filled tortillas. Very very nice. My Partners main was the pork Burrito Mojado, a massive dish that will fill you up. It was very tasty and fresh. Everything here was served up fresh. The staff were friendly and polite. The food was very prompt too. We are both looking forward to our return visit here.

Cortina’s is great for drinks — there is a great bar and an extensive drinks menu, many of which are delicious. I’ve eaten here 3 or four times and love the salsa selection served with tortilla chips to start. The spicy mango sauce is lovely! However, the burritos are just ok! They could be fresher and one time I ate here, the two people I was eating with ordered fish and barely finished half of it! I guess that’s what you get for ordering fish in a Mexican restaurant?! The service is good though! I would return again but I wouldn’t be recommending it to others! For the price you pay there is better options…

Love love love the salsa tasting plate. I wish the spicy salsa was a bit more spicier, but it was not too bad. I am used to have my Mexican food burn in your mouth spicy, but this is not too bad. The first time I went there I had the taco sampler and it was delicious! I wouldn’t call it authentic Mexican but nevertheless it hit the spot. The second time I had the burrito and it was pretty gross. The meat was super over cooked and the sauce was yuck. The bar stuff was pretty neglectful. I asked for a drink and I didn’t get it. I didn’t get charged for it, but I didn’t get my drink! I was SO looking forward to my cerveza and I was denied! Maybe it was a good thing because I probably shouldn’t have been drinking anymore.

I’ve dropped Cortina’s down a star, since yesterday I went for lunch and they’d changed chefs, and some of their menu. While some new sauces, like the piquin and the mango salsa, were interesting, the salsa verde is horrible now, not the same texture or flavour. The enchiladas seem to be smaller, but that could’ve just been my imagination. All in all it was less satisfying, but still the same price. Staff are still lovely though and the desserts remain very good.

Shared a starter of nachos and guacamole. The guacamole was OK, not the best I have had as the lime was a bit overpowering. Then it was onto a steak burrito. This was delicious, tender and tasty. Then followed by the chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice-cream!(had a taste of the lime and mango sorbet too!) it was all very tasty and full of flavour. The staff were very friendly and helpful which is a big bonus.
