Hidden away in Mount Merrion, this pub could be a pleasant little local, at least in warmer months. There are picnic benches outside which were nice in the sun, but as that is the only smoking area, it should be noted that it is uncovered and presumably then unheated. The inside is welcoming, dark but not too dark, spacious, with most tables set into ‘cubby’ areas, which seat about 10. Pricing was totally standard, but the service was grumpy. I wouldn’t make an effort to ‘go’ here, but it’s grand if you’re just passing.

The OTHER Kielys! the lesser known one! its kind of hidden in the middle of mount merrion so is not one that you would be passing by you will acually have to look for it if you want to go in. its still a good pub to watch Rugby in or any other pub for that matter! there is alway slots of locals too but you wont feel too out of place. This is also a good place for a pub lunch or even a sunday lunch! so there you go give the other kielys a go if you are cared of D4 people and dont want to go to the donnybrook version!

If you love rugby, you’ll love this bar — otherwise bring a blindfold and earplugs for 2 reasons! The accents will have you diving for the nearest blunt object and the overly done up ‘could be glamour girls if they weren’t so posh’ women will have you cringing in embarrassment! The bar is old world glamour though and its a shame that it has been overrun with these yuppies for too long!
