Our worst meal of our tour around Ireland. We were tired and hungry from a day od exploring, so we stopped in for a drink and dinner(the other place we had wanted to go was closed). BF got the open face shrimp sandwich and I got a soup of the day because nothing else appealed on the menu. The beer was good(great draft selection) and service was friendly, but the food was terrible. My bf found the description of his was not accurate for what he received and said the ingredients tasted like they had been frozen. My soup was fine, but it’s soup so I would hope so. If you are looking for a nice place to sit and drink street a long day, this place will do just fine. But I think we’d stay hungry and drive to Kenmare if we were looking for food again.

Good food and Guinness!!! To be honest I did not hear about the«fuss» about this pub before. But when we passed this pink building I recognized it from a post card I bought and I then checked on Unilocal. After reading some reviews we decided to try it for ourselves. I must say I was not disappointed at all in fact, we went back the next day. The first evening we had food, I was quite surprised by the extended vegetarian menu they offer. My pasta was absolutely fantastic, the garlic bread which was obviously home made a treat! Yummy! The lovely waitress, although alone and serving all the(foreign) costumers, was very efficient and totally good at what she did. When asking for the Wifi code she scribbled it on a piece of paper :) Cute The place is very cozy and when we were there the 2nd night to drink a pint of Guinness we experienced the same hospitality from different staff. If you are in Sneem, go and have dinner at D O´Shea´s. You will not regret it! And even though I said there are some tourist… there are lots of locals as well!

O’Shea’s totally lives up to the hype! This has to be one of my all-time favorite Irish pubs. I love the atmosphere inside, but I also love the outdoor patio overlooking the river. Its just a lovely pub filled with locals and antique Guinness posters. We came here a number of times and just really enjoyed ourselves. Free wifi is a plus! The staff are also super friendly and nice to chat up. The food is also absolutely terrific. I enjoyed the spaghetti & meatballs with garlic ciabiatta bread — so good, I’m still thinking about it. The burger was HUGE and tasty as can be. My dad stole the show with his order of bacon steak and colcannon — HEAVEN. I highly recommend stopping in on your way through Sneem, or making this a destination for a lovely night on the town!

I know we enjoyed the food, it was back in 2008 when we were in Ireland. I will never forget though trying the Rebel Red beer, the best beer I’ve ever had.
