I ended up going here because woodies recommended it! I hadn’t been here in a good few years. I was looking for specific paint for some wood I was redecorating. They have an excellent array of paints and lights. Upstairs is fabrics and blinds. I ended up here twice in one day and I had another brain wave(very unusual) and needed to return to get paint for metal! Anyway the guy whom I had dealt with in the morning was very very helpful and knowledgeable and the guy I dealt with later on in the day turned out to have been not so helpful or knowledgeable! I needed a certain colour and type of paint for my metal, I was directed to a corner and told that that was all there was. When I was going to pay for not so ideal purchase the gentle man from earlier in the day appeared like an angel and guided me through the fluffy clouds to a section where there were all the paints in the world I could need or want — it was paint heaven :)

I love this shop and it is my first call for paint, product, lighting and advice. Dulux is better for coverage than any other paint I find. The staff are excellent with advice and help. The lighting department is wonderful and are happy to fix any lamps as needed.

I am DIY diva since I found this shop(well, kinda…). The staff are amazingly well informed about all aspects of DIY. Not sure what type of paint to use in a kitchen? Is Dulux the best brand, or are we all brainwashed into thinking so because Crown don’t have a big gorgeous dog on their ads? When to use a paintbrush instead of a roller? They have all the answers here. Paints come in all different colours and finishes, and the prices are really keen, even compared to Woodies(which are a much bigger chain). They have a massive lighting section in the shop too, with all different styles from modern chrome kitchen lamps to grannyish candelabras.
