A nice Italian place in the heart of Dublin! We had a nice dinner: We started with a nice spumante to celebrate my birthday :). Followed by a parmigiana cooked as my grandma did. My wife had a mushroom salad with parmigiano. Then, we had the fabulous pastas alle vongole so tasty. I took the classic Italian cheese and to be confident I never experienced these types of old and matured cheese, interesting to try with their very good honey and sweet olives. To finish on a sugar note, we shared their tiramisu, and love it! A bit disappointed on my favourite white Italian wine, their pinot griggio is too young and not so tasty as it should be. Anyway, we had a great time, the team is nice and warmly welcoming. You definitely have to try it :)

Ragu bolognese was perfect! Also tasted a few other dishes like a roasted chicken and the beef ravioli, just as good. Would go back again.

If you are looking for a quality Italian meal in Dublin, look no further than Il Vicoletto. We had dinner here weekend before last and the food was outstanding. Great quality ingredients, lovely ambience and good service. By far the best Italian I’ve had in Dublin. Our group of four had a variety of starters including the calamari, veal Carpaccio special and the burrata special. My burrata with tomatoes and basil was so lovely and my friends thoroughly enjoyed their choices. For mains we had the ravioli dello chef, pappardelle con funghi porcini and the ragu di salsiccia con pappardelle. I was sceptical about the Ragu with the Chianti sauce… but it was incredible. Those who ordered the mushroom pappardelle loved their dishes and the homemade ravioli with the pork and sage butter was a huge hit as well. To finish out the evening we ordered a couple tiramisus and the chocolate fondant. I was disappointed with the tiramisu(good not great) but the chocolate fondant with ice cream and amaretto? Oh. My. Heavens. Definitely worth fighting your dinner companion for(which was luckily my husband). We had a wonderful experience at Il Vicoletto and enjoyed our wine so much that we ordered the same kind for our second bottle. Be sure and make a booking in advance and come hungry.

This is my dad’s favourite restaurant and for very good reason! It is rare to stumble across such an authentic little Italian in the most touristy part of Dublin! Every time I come here I leave with a happy tummy! The food is so fresh and delicious I feel like I could have had my dinner in Italy! On top of that the extensive wine list will not disappoint, the staff are very good at helping you match your wine and food and I love the decanter they attach to the red wine bottle! Always a busy spot so make sure to book ahead.

After 12 days of traveling around the beautiful county of Ireland and going to Pubs, we were dying for a change in cuisine. The food was amazing and the restaurant accommodated our party of 9 at a late notice. Please order the calamari appetizer. We traveled to Dublin for an outstanding meal. Love Ireland but the food …

Some of the best Italian food I’ve ever tasted! The service is great and they have a large selection of wine! However the restaurant is on the smaller side and since it appears to be a local favorite as well, making reservations ahead of time is a must! The Irish filet was amazing, and a must try if you like steak!

Very quaint authentic Italian restaurant in the Temple Bar area. Well worth the visit especially as a respite from pub fare. The food is delicious. The parmigiana appetizer was amazing especially the sauce. The Sea Bass comes wrapped in foil…2 large pieces very moist and cooked to perfection. The service is great. The only con is only Italian beer but not a big deal since the list of Italian wines is extensive. I highly recommend

Amazing Italian restaurant in the middle of Dublin Temple bar area that you would completely walk past if you did not know how good it is. This is hands down one of the best Italian Restuarants we have ever been to and we have been to Italy 3 – 4 times. It feels like a family run restaurant with people who care about their food and the richness of taste and quality of ingredients of their food and wine. I really recommend the chocolate fondant which was a real suprise and could match any michelin starred restaurant that we have been to in London Was really romantic as well Real surprise and highlight of Dublin!

Being Italian myself you can probably imagine how picky I can be about Italian food abroad. Well, I have to say my experience at Il Vicoletto nicely surprised me from the very beginning to the end. I got to taste their signature dish(Pappardelle con ragù di salsiccia), their calamari and their Risotto taleggio e pere — if I REEALLY concentrate I think I can still taste it, absolutely delicious. Very good selection of wines, staff always kind and attentive. Well they’ve been in business for almost 20 years and they deserve the popularity they got so far. If you are taking a stroll in Temple Bar and you’re starving, pop in there and I’m pretty sure you won’t regret it.

It was Bella Delisioso. Service is great and the food was wonderful. Yes, why eat Italian while visiting Dublin? Craving pasta, that’s why. Here are pics of what we ordered. We are staying at a hotel but yet we asked for takeaway for the food we did not eat, we were so full. Small, the waiters and cooks talking on Italian. Maybe yelling at times. But oh so authentic for a small hideaway amongst the pubs of Dublin with Volare playing in the background.

Un sitio pequeño pero agradable en Temple Bar. Un italiano de toda la vida pero sin pizza ni cerveza de barril. La comida buenísima aunque el precio lo valía. El personal muy majo y atento. Sin duda, repetiría experiencia.

Hands down the BEST Italian food I’ve EVER had. The buffalo mozzarella caprese was outstanding. As was the chef’s speciality the homemade pasta with ragu. If you’re in Dublin, make reservations and frequent this place. .. Often.

This place was great. Very dark and intimate with high quality Italian. I had the ravioli of the day, which was a tomato flavored ravioli shell with goat cheese and ricotta inside. It was very clearly homemade and quite delicious. My wife had the chicken with mushroom gravy and the bite I had was very tasty. They had a nice wine selection and the service was excellent. I’d definitely go back.

We were looking for someplace to have dinner and stumbled into this place. The food was terrific! We were tired of fried pub food and wanted something a bit more diverse. Funny to call italian diverse huh? I have travelled throughout Italy and live in NYC where Italian food is pretty amazing. I would totally go back! We had the best service in Ireland here so far. Highly recommended.

To all Italian red wine lovers(especially Ammarone), you should know that The Proprietor Christian is passionate about his Italian wines and attends annual wine conferences in highly respected regions in Italy. His favourite is Ammarone and his selection is second to none. If you share his passion and aren’t afraid to spend a wad on a fantastic wine, ask him for advice and he will be only happy to sit down and tell you everything you need to know. he may even sit down and join you for a glass

Needed a good spot for a catch up with the girls last Saturday night and thought a return trip to Il Vicoletto might do the trick — we weren’t disappointed! My two girlfriends had not been before and it lived up to my raving! I had the walnut pasta again — I could never be disappointed by this dish! But next time I will have to force myself to try something difference — one friend had the Pear and Tallegio rissotto. To-die-for! I’m definitely going back for it. We tried the bruchetta again, this time it was perfect, ripe tomatoes, yummy flavours. Everything else, wine, service, ambiance — it’s just perfect for a cosy evening with friends. This place is definitely on my fav Italian list in Dublin.

Gave them a ring at 6 on a Friday approaching Christmas to see if they could accommodate 4. No answer… booo… will have to try another place. Then the phone rang and it was them calling back ‘Come on down’…Yaaaay! The place is tiny. A real little cosy authentic Italian eatery with all the loudness and squeezing past others that comes with that. Personally I love all that, but might not be to everyones liking. The four of us opted for the set menu which was 3 courses for € 25. Calamari for starters and amitriciana for mains. Others at the table had mussels and pâté. All very satisfied. The calamari were delicious and very delicate. Always a good sign of a restaurants calibre. My amitriciana main was very good. Two of my compadres also had it and all agreed. The other diner had Sea bass and thought it was one of the best she’d had in an age. I finished off with a chocolate fondant… YUM. This place comes highly recommended. I’d agree with Slim D you would be very hard pushed to find a better restaurant in this part of town.
