Best Chinese takeaway in Dublin 9. There are a few other places in the area but this place has better quality. You can even eat in and the restaurant is always busy and nice décor. If there is a wait you can grab a pint downstairs at the Viscount. The salt chili chicken is a huge portion which is fantastic value for your money and the portion of curry we get on the side is like a tub. It is huge! I will have to try dining in and will update my review when i do! I just want to mention the staff here are incredibly friendly. They have a few people running the place then a few familiar faces that handle collections and answer phones. They are so kind and it makes the experience that much better.

Tried the € 15pp all you can eat menu. It’s not the usual all you can eat buffet style concept here. You order off the waitress & it’s brought to your table, small portions mind. It’s actually pretty good quality. I’ve tried a few all you can eat & they’re usually pretty bad quality wise. Definitely recommended, fantastic value.

Did someone say all you can eat? This restaurant has one of the best concepts I’ve ever heard of: all you can eat and NOT a buffet! You simply order as many starters as you wish, as many mains as you wish and as many sides as you wish. All included for a fixed price(I believe it’s € 16 per person but to be honest I was treated so didn’t see the price!). All you have to pay for that’s not included is your drinks & since the restaurant is over a pub they have a full licence for pints, wine, spirits the works(which is not very common in the Chinese places I’ve been to before usually serving Chinese beer & wine only). This place is great craic for groups but if attending with a big group(like we did) don’t expect to get the correct meal as what can happen is people forget what they ordered & just claim whatever dish comes to the table & sounds good. It was great craic & the food was really really enjoyable. Why then, you may ask, am I only giving 2 stars? Well we attended in a large group for a family celebration. We explained when booking that we expect 34 but there was likely to be more. As there is a large balcony sort of area in the restaurant they said this wouldn’t be a problem. As expected more people arrived & they simply hadn’t got enough space for us & gave out to my Aunt for under-booking. We squashed in & made room & then began to order. As we were split over 2 tables they took the order of the bigger table first & then took our tables orders. It seems customary that people order 3 items at a time(the portions are quite small to accommodate people wanting to try lots of things). After about 15 minutes the food for the big tables started to arrive, then their second items, then their third items… Nothing for us. As the staff were calling out the various starters you’re supposed to let them know that you had ordered it so they know where to put the plate, they called something I had ordered so I raised my hand & they put their hand up to block my face & shushed me to wait to see did the bigger table order it first… After 15 minutes of serving the big table they arrived back with our starters. I ordered 3 items & only 2 arrived. My Finacé ordered 3 items & only 1 of his arrived. While we were still eating our first starter(& a very measly amount as although most people ordered 3 items each very little actually arrived to our table) the bigger table were placing a second order of starters. It wasn’t until the second order of starters came out for the big table that they considered taking our order. I ordered the item that didn’t arrive out the first time around. The big table ordered again & their third orders came out before our second. Then they ordered mains & even that arrived before our second. I then asked the waiter where our food was & after 10 minutes our starters arrived, just as the main course for the big table arrived. As the big table was finishing their first main I had to ask the waiter if he could take our main order to which he replied, with a smirk«oh you’ve finished with starters at last have you»… By the time our main arrived the other table had been finished such a long time that the restaurant brought out the cake before I was even halfway through my course. I had given up. I have never ever left an all you can eat place hungry before. Overall the food is great & I think had our party been sat at one table, or had both tables been treated the same way I would have had a better experience. I would return as I have been in the past & the service wasn’t quite so bad(hence the two stars & not just one).
