This was a highlight for us in Bologna, way beyond our expectations. The staff were super-friendly and patient with our very basic grasp of Italian language(even though they spoke very good english). The food was wonderful and I believe to be typical Bolognese cuisine(tagliatelle al ragu, tortelloni, pork shin and so on). Everything was cooked beautifully, tasted delicious, service was great, and the house wine was delicious(and cheap). Amazing tiramisu. We ended the night with generous pours of limoncello and armagnac. For the quality of food, service and atmosphere we expected to pay a lot more. Recommended.

Decent place for lunch. Fresh pasta, so that is a plus. With that being said, their tagliatelle Bolognese was pretty good in comparison to other local lunch spots. Decent lunch specials — the boar was tasty. Service left something to be desired so we didn’t stick around for dessert or coffee.

We were lucky enough to get a reservation, when we arrived our table wasn’t ready so we waited about 10 minutes, no big deal. The place was hopping! We were seated and started to look over the menu and wine list. My husband was in between a few bottles of wine, so the waiter brought the bottles over so we could take a look at them. First Course: gnocchetti with Spinach and Ricotta… OMG I have never had gnocchi like this. They just melted in your mouth, so delicious. Tagliatelle Bolognese was also delicious, good thing since we were in Bologna. Secondi: Cutlet with prosciutto and cheese, the plate was put in front of me and it was a huge white blob. I wasn’t sure what to think, so I cut into it. The cutlet was so tender, the prosciutto crispy and the melted cheese covering it pulled the whole thing together, and it was fantastic. Braised rabbit with string beans was excellent. The most tender rabbit I have had any where, what a wonderful dish. We were stuffed, so decided against dessert, but we were so happy to have discovered da Pietro because it was an unbelievable dining experience. Definitely give it a try.
