Very cool rustic restaurant. They went out of there way once they met our son and took him to kitchen to meet the chef. And made some extra special food for him. While we enjoyed our amazing steak. Must go, steakhouse in Florence.

This is a wild and weird restaurant in absolutely all the best ways. They combine traditional Tuscan food with what the chef calls reconstructions of historical cuisine, recipes that in practice turn out to be fusion cuisine, infusing local dishes with unexpected, even startling international flavors, like a cocoa-based sauce that is effectively an Italian molé. In all my years visiting Italy I have never tasted anything remotely like it or really like any of the dishes we enjoyed here. The seasonal specials are on point, the wine list is short but well-priced, and the service is helpful and friendly. The only downside to our visit was the arrival of an extraordinarily loud party of locals that caused us to skip dessert to save our eardrums. But we are already eager to return and explore more of the innovative menu.

This place is beyond amazing! I made a reservation here two days in advance, because I was told how great it was and didn’t want to miss out. I was also told everything you order is delicious and they were right! It is a small cozy restaurant with a huge personality. The food speaks for itself, the servers are friendly and the wine completes the experience. It’s a fantastic place to go, highly recommended, just make sure you make a reservation!

Yum!!! So so good, had the appetizer sampler with the flan added in, the rabbit pasta and the wild boar with chocolate sauce. It was amazing. Our waiter Manuel recommended a very good wine to go with our meal and it was beyond delicious. He also surprised us by picking our desserts which also were sooo good. I would highly recommend this Renaissance type food restaurant. I would not hesitate to go back and try all the other dishes as well.

We had our best meal in Florence at Pentola dell’Oro. It is a lovely, cozy little place off the well-beaten tourist path. True, local foods. I dream about the leek tart. The antipasti were exceptional. The pasta cooked to perfection. The boar and duck dishes were amazing. Not a tourist trap; thank goodness. The red vino della casa was lovely. The service was outstanding. Reservation recommended.
