Genoa is full of surprises like this lovely little church in the Piazza de San Pietro. S. Pietro in Banchi or the Church of St. Peter«at the gate or on the stalls» is aptly named because of its ancient position besides the sea, at the gates of the City, and above the associated money exchange stalls of this once global powerhouse. What I loved most about this Church was all the white marble and the resulting geometric harmony and classic equilibrium. My few pictures did not do this Church justice, but Gayle and I did make an excuse to come back the next morning(before leaving for the airport) to take another look both inside and out.
