Tricolore Monti

Read about this place because it was the same owner as Bonci (greatest pizza in rome) and stumbled across it on my way to the Colosseum. After living in Paris I thought I have tried the best bread possible, but this place can give paris a run for its money. I had the octopus sandwich with the potato bread.
lord have mercy on the bread. It was absolute PERFECTION. warm, soft and beautiful on the inside, while the THIN crust was wonderfully crispy. never have i had bread like this before. The octopus itself was very fresh and perfectly seasoned. We tried the beef cheek as well. i did’t like this at all. The beef cheek was almost like beef jerky. They gave you thin strips of it and it was pretty dry.
The main thing that bothered me was how the sandwich was legit just that. bread and then the main ingredient inside. NOTHING ELSE. When it first came i was instantly disappointed. No lettuce of any sort, nothing. But once you eat it, you realize its delicious on its own (not the beef cheek one). if i lived in Rome I would come back for sure and try all of them!

Inventive high end burger bar in the trendy district of Monti. The Vegan burger was loved by the whole table (none of us actually vegans). I opted for the crab burger in a green tea bun — also well executed. The prices are high but the quality is there to back it up. The chips were great too!

Small menu, but the beef cheek sandwich was soooooo good. If anything, just go for this
