We just ate lunch at this place. We should have left when after having to ask for bread they brought over the DRYEST bread I can recall ever tasting! I had lasagne, chicken and a salad. They were mediocre. My daughter had spaghetti, calamari, and French Fries. They all were bad! In fact the Calamari was horrible, possibly fake Calamari if you know what I mean… from a non fish. The waiters were unfriendly, borderline rude. See pics of the Calamari… they look like microwaved onion rings.

This was our first dinner in Venice, and in Italy and I quickly learned that the servers are not there to recommend their favorites, only up sell you. We found this place as were were wandering through the streets and saw a bunch of people eating outside. the menu looked decent so we sat outside. When i asked which red wine the server recommended, he looked away, and pointed to the most expensive. When my husband asked why, the server replied«more expensive». The meal was decent, as I don’t recall what exactly I had. My husband had the fettuccine which was good and we split the caprese salad which was very tasty. We ended up chatting with the couple next to us who was also from Colombia(where my husband’s family is from), so that was probably the most memorable part of the meal.

Good, straightforward Italian food at a reasonable price We stumbled across this place by accident, being just far away from the Grand Canal to not be outrageously touristy /over-priced. Very friendly owner couldn’t have been more patient with my rather poor attempts at Italian and the food was great — pretty standard fare for venice, but done well and at a reasonable price. I recommend the plate of mixed meats for the starter — really nice mix of Italian hams and salamis. Only thing I could fault was the slightly distrating euro-pop /trance being played over the stereo, but this seems to have been a feature at most places we went in Venice!
