Terrible meal. We came because we saw the various fixed price menu options but after 9:30/10pm they are not available. We were looking for a pre-selected and carefree ordering experience, but this was not what we got. The fish in the mixed seafood grill was overcooked and tough, the bruschetta was made on dry bread and with dried rather than fresh basil, and the tagliolini with salmon had to be sent back it was so overly salty. On a brighter note, the service was excellent. The waiter was incredibly helpful and patient with walking us through the menu items. This is the only reason they even receive one star.

I feel like this is a bit of a tourist trap. While the food was good, the service was not. I am used to service in Italy be in slow, but this was above and beyond slow. Plus they forgot one of our entrees(grilled chicken). On top of that, they added a cover charge to the bill… not a service charge, but a cover charge. When we questioned this, I was pointed to the small print at the bottom of the menu. The server acted like we were crazy for protesting this charge.

A gondolier recommended this place to us and it didn’t disappoint! Very attentive staff and the food was great. Tough to tell what my favorite part of the evening was — but their complimentary homemade limoncello and biscotti come to mind and immediately my mouth waters. If you’re in Venice — find this place.

Like most Venician restaurants, this place can be summed up well with just a few words: overpriced touristey disappointment. One bright spot, they had wifi that allowed me to post this review. Thanks Trovatore!
