Saitama Railway Hatogaya station

Like all train/​metro stations in Japan, it’s clean and safe. The station is located about three floors underground so there are two sets of escalator to get to the ticket gates and then another one to reach the platform. There are also stairs and an elevator. Inside the metro station there’s also a small office, an ATM, a massage parlor, an exhibition area, and a nursery as well. There is a huge bicycle garage with really kind and polite staff.
The station staff is, as usual, very courteous. As far as I know they cannot speak English but will make an effort to understand and help. There are signs in romaji/​English so it’s possible to navigate the area in general while being almost illiterate in Japanese. The announcements are not bilingual, though.
Even though it’s quite new (it opened in 2001) there are some filtration problems in some of the exits. There are plenty of exists which cater to different areas of Hatogaya. It’s a small town, so don’t expect much. Having said that, I grew very fond of this station. I wish they would make a tunnel that links up to the supermarket across the highway, but we can’t have it all, can we?
