«How about rice balls?» she called prospective customers in front of the shop. She repeated again and again in a feeble voice. She was young and beautiful, so I felt sorry for her. She could pull the public eyes more if she was vigorous and called out to visitors in a loud voice. And I looked at the rice balls which formed a line in the store. Salmon, seasoned dry sea kelp, Japanese pepper called Sansho, minced chicken, plain, others, various kinds of rice balls are prepared. Unlike rice balls sold in a convenience store, this rice ball is in awkward form, which makes it cute. It is the rice ball of a famous rice dealer and I was at a loss which one to choose, I had better choose either white rice or seasoned rice… in the end I picked up seasoned rice with five ingredients of vegetables(Gomoku Gohan) at 130 yen because I like Takikomi Gohan(seasoned rice). Customers can eat the goods in the eat-in corner. The salesgirl asked me, «Should I warm it?» She smiled awkwardly. Her smile was much better than her serious face. «Yes, please» I answered. I purchased the tea of the plastic bottle, too. The tea of 140 yen that the Yamashiro farm co-op produces. After all the tea of Uji is different from the others. Very delicious. The number of the seats is seven seats. Though I ordered only one rice ball, chopsticks and a wet tissue were also served. I saw a kitchen from a counter seat. The inside was clean and the woman staff worked quickly. It was more delicious after the rice ball was warmed. Though it was the rice with the seasoning, the taste was light. It seems to be Kyoto flavor. But it was delicious. Not to mention here, rice made in Kyoto is sold here. I am interested in Tanba Koshihikari. It seems to be rice not to sell very much. I’m going to buy some next time.
