Last year I went with a couple of friends. It was located along Horikawa river from around Nijyo castle to Seimei Shrine, about two kilometers. The admission of Nijyo castle was free(only night time) and they held Project Mapping at the castle. This year the events are held from August 2 to 11 in the evening. If you have a plan to drop into Kyoto during these days, highly recommended to go! You will definitely enjoy it There are many various events! Everything was amazing. One thing that my favorite is illuminated Nishijin Ori floating on the water. Nishijin Ori is traditional gorgeous fabrics, produced in Kyoto City.
