It’s a big park and good to go picnic with family. As I was a student in elementary school, we went here as field trip. I think all students living in the city of Kyoto have been here.
If you are a steam train enthusiast, you should come! There is a museum of steam locomotive. Unfortunately I’m not a railfan so I don’t explain which part is great… However that I was completely overwhelmed with steam locomotives in a semi-​circular. That was awesome and pretty cool view! There are around 20 steam locomotives, standing in a semicircle and these were produced between the Meiji and Showa eras.
Also there is an aquarium in this park. It has opened on March 14, 2012 and seem to be good for a couple too, not only for a family. Although you are not railfan, still this park give you some place to enjoy!!!
