You may be wondering what the heck this weird-looking stuff on the place is – This is Shanghai Crab! The season for that is basically from October through December so the rest of the year you can’t really eat it. It’s supposedly a very luxury food a lot of Chinese people get excited to eat for this time of the year. This year I even flew over to Shanghai to try the local crab and it was fresh and high quality at an amazingly cheap price. By the way, this«Chugoku Hanten» is located in the Roppongi/Nishiazabu area, which is popular for fancy restaurants. This place is also pretty fancy and is not exactly a casual family-friendly place but rather is a place for treating your guests/business partners or fancy dates, unless you go there for lunch. Their dinner course ranges from 10,000JPY to 35,000JPY and I had the cheapest one(10,000JPY). The quality of the dishes on the course was absolutely superb and sophisticated. It was definitely beyond my expectations. It was by far the best Chinese food I had ever had in my life. The only reservation was the portion being way too small for me… I think that could be the case even with women so that was a bit disappointing. I imagine the portion would be bigger if you go for more expensive courses, though. If you can bear the damage of about 20,000JPY for dinner, they would surely impress you quite a bit.

pretty decent chinese food … can get a bit expensive at dinner but great value for lunch… xiaolongbao was perfect but the fried gyoza was just ok
