This place is absolutely amazing! Yes — believe the hype!!! The location is pretty strange for Patisurimitiku(Patisserie Mythique, or Café Mythique, for English speakers). It’s by the freeway, under the bullet train line and next to a school. It might be a little difficult to find at first — but once you’re in the area, keep your eyes open for the signature red door. The first floor is where you do your ordering, and where you can ogle all of the pretty little desserts on display. Like a lot of places in Sendai, the menu is completely in Japanese, but that’s ok — if you’re anything like me and get way too excited over latte art, you’ll probably only want to order the 3D(pronounced suree-dee) latte anyway. The desserts also looked great, so I decided to get something called the«purantanie.» Once you order, you can head upstairs and grab a seat. I was pleasantly surprised by how adorable the place was. Somewhat small, but cozy, with lots of kitschy deocrations and fake flora hanging from the walls. My 3D latte was just as beautiful as I hoped it would be, and the dessert I ordered was foamy, creamy and slightly citrusy that was indescribably light and delicious. No matter what you order here, you can’t go wrong. Highly, highly recommended.
