Shouronpoukafe-sen

Shouronpoukafe-​sen (aka Sen 千 Shouronpou Café) is right near the Okusawa train station and serves Shanghai style dim sum.
I enjoyed homemade Xiao Long Bao XLB dumplings (shouronpou in Japanese romanization of Chinese 小龍包) and 7 other dim sum bite sized snacks during my stay in Tokyo.
I spoke to the chef/​owner a little bit. She took dim sum making classes when she lived in Shanghai, China with her business executive husband who was stationed there. She got a dim sum making certificate in Shanghai and continued to work on the craft after returning to Japan.
XLB dumpling prices start at 270 yen for three (roughly USD $ 2.50−2.70 depending on exchange rate).
I ordered the 900 yen 8 item dim sum set including my choice of Chinese tea (9 kinds to choose from). The dim sum set came with 5 kinds of dumplings, 2 types of sticky rice — regular and black) and a choice of 1 type of steamed bun.
I also got a separate order of XLB dumplings (3 for 270 yen) because the 8 item dim set only comes with 1 XLB.
I’m definitely a fan and will be coming back to try more from the menu — they also have mapo tofu, ramen and other dishes. It’s a cute and tiny shop — the owner does everything so be patient when you go.
