We waited in line for 30 minutes in light rain before being given the chance to slurp up this uncommonly good tsukemen.(Tsukemen, for the uninitiated, is often called dipping ramen as the noodles and toppings are served alongside a separate bowl of hot broth which you dip into.) It was worth every minute we waited! And after finishing my noodles, thinking things couldn’t get any better, the lady in charge whisked away my soup bowl and returned it refilled with hot water which transformed my remaining dipping sauce into a rich and creamy broth. (If you want a super authentic, old school experience use the bathroom — it has a squat toilet.) Tsukemen lovers, get in line — this soup is legit!
