Saw this place on TV recently and finally got the chance to try it out today(9÷19÷15). By the time we arrived at around noon, there was already a line out the door but the line went decently fast. The place is pretty small; just 10 or so seats at the counter and just two small tables. You first need to order your food through the ticket machine at the front door before you’re seated. There’s beef(as well as chicken) soba. They also have a special soba dish called black curry soba, limited to only 30 dishes a day. They also serve shrimp and chikuwa(fish cake roll) tempura as a topping with your soba. I ordered a medium beef soba — homemade buckwheat noodles topped with thin-sliced beef, sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and lots of nori(dried seaweed); the tsuyu(dipping sauce) is loaded with chili oil — hence the name of the shop, which translates to «why add raayu(chili oil) to soba?» — I also ordered a shrimp tempura as a topping with my noodles… it was huge! They also have a freebie: raw egg to mix in with your noodles to lower the spiciness of the chili oil, if you’re not a fan of spicy food. The noodles were fresh and the meat complimented the spicy tsuyu very well; even my husband was surprised how good it was and said that this place, by far, has the best soba noodles he’s ever had. I have a feeling we’ll be back.

The dipping sauce has a decent amount of red chili oil in it. The soba is very fresh, and the service is fast. The noodles I ordered were extra beef laden and filling. A sure place for a good lunch! It was on TV recently so beware a wait. It is definitely worth trying and my chikuwa tempura was gianormous, no other way to put it…

Delicious buckwheat soba noodles served with dipping sauce chili oil. Pay by vending machine. Friendly service. Tips: — The top left button on the vending machine is a regular sized bowl with shredded beef, noodles, sesame seeds, seaweed and leeks. Very tasty! — Next to the vending machine is a container filled with soba water, you can add this to your dipping sauce after to drink it as a soup. You can also add fish flour. — I don’t think this soba is completely wheat free, I read a review of the place when I googled the name(recommend you do this) and it said they use 20% wheat.
