An all-​year Christmas shop in Yokohama.
Who would have thought that there is a Christmas decoration shop that sells Christmas related items in August? Yep, there are many of these kind of stores in the U.S. Those that has a sign at the entrance «Only 310 Days till Christmas». However, in a largely Shinto and Buddha country like Japan, it is a bit strange that Christmas Toys could stay in business.
Many foreigners are often shocked by Japanese people’s immense drive to celebrate Christmas. If you visit Tokyo in December, the city is lit with Christmas lights. Unlike the U.S., no one calls this season «Holiday Season». They all call it «Christmas»; although they have no idea who HIM is. According to the store person, this place become packed starting November. If you want relaxing time, I suggest going here in the summer.
The store is small, but shelves are filled with interesting stuff. Plan on spending about 20 minutes at the store. Afterwards, I recommend checking out Tin Toy Museum next door, which is owned by the same people (entrance 200 Yen).
