We were lucky to get a table right when we walked in(smoking section, though). The menu is not extensive, but there’s enough to please most palates. We ordered some veggies: miso stuffed cucumbers which were really tasty and a Caesar salad that was like many other izakaya Caesars. While the side options are quite good, people go there for the chicken. As others wrote, there is a «young» chicken or «old» chicken option. Now I hate to think of my food as a lively little feathered bird running playfully about, but I suppose that the older the chicken, the more stress she endured. And that might be reflected in the tenderness of the meat. I’m no scientist, but that young chicken was tender and delicious while the older hen was so-so. If deciding between the two, I suggest the young one. The seasoning was great on both, but the young option was«fall off the bone» juicy and tender. By the way, I realize that this review seems morbid with the young and old bird, but that is precisely how this restaurant markets it. Just keeping it real.

This place appears to be extremely popular with Japanese people. However, if you are American, I think it is very unlikely you will like this chicken. To me, it tasted like well marinated shoe leather. The spices were good, but the chicken is so tough, it is almost impossible to separate from the bone, much less chew and swallow it. I have never eaten such chewy, gristly chicken and I really can’t even guess what you could do to chicken to make it that tough. Even the skin was un-edible. I thought the chicken was terrible, but all the Japanese people around me seemed to love gnawing on the stuff. I guess my wife and I just didn’t get it. Luckily, we also ordered the rice, which tasted wonderful compared to the chicken.

I understand that this restaurant gets high score. Chicken is so delicious! Luckily we could get two seats pm7 Friday night after we waited for 15 min. I recommend to make a booking. Sharing Parents bird and Nestling was difficult so we ordered both, and it was worth to have them. Because oily Parents bird and Nestling has the different tastes. Parents bird was cooked until crisp and Nestling was so soft to bite it. It was quit reasonable 4,500 yen with 2 kinds of chicken, Salad, 2 beers per person. I can add this resaturant on my list near Yokohama station.

The chicken at this restaurant is amazing. We rolled in for lunch on a Sunday, there were quite a few families in the restaurant at lunch. I was worried when I saw the restaurant listed as an izakaya… maybe it is a good pub but the food is only so, so? Nope. Food was great. We had the chicken legs, the seasoning was strong and good, they were very juicy and the skin was crisp. They give you a little plate with raw cabbage to dip in the chicken drippings. We also had daikon salad, tori meshi(chicken rice), consommé, and an order of Japanese pickles. Everything was tasty. Customer service was attentive and price was reasonable. If you’re in the mood for some good chicken, this is the place.

The chicken here is delicious! It goes well with a large beer. The edamame pairs quite well with the chicken & beer. Expect a 20~40 minute wait after 17:00. I think it’s well worth it.
