The atmosphere of this place reminds me of the fist brewery I have been to in Michigan, the Bell’s. They have a good selection of beers and foods at reasonable prices. If I have lived closer, I could have been here more often.

Hands down the coolest brewery in Tokyo. William Copeland, who created the brewery in the late 1800s was one of the first non-Japanese business to start doing business. And what better way to do business than brew beer?!? The place is big inside and everyone is extremely friendly. As a white, non-Japanese American-speaking person I had no trouble communicating with the waiters and waitresses. They were able to explain everything to me and were extremely polite. The hospitality I felt compelled me to drink lots of alcohol. Especially the strong ones. Now for the kicker: the most fascinating thing about this was their fusion machine! They infused a beer of my choosing with hops in a process that is limited to only 2 bars in Japan. And there’s a limit to 5 of these per day there or maybe at a time. Nonetheless, I felt honored! I would go back in a heart beat. They also serve food which is good. But their beer is what makes it. See the pictures!

Évaluation du lieu : 3 Yokohama, Japan
This is decent brew-pub type restaurant with a passable menu. They have six taps serving locally made rotating lagers, ales, stouts, etc., though when we were there they were down to four. The beers were okay, nothing special, which is probably because giant breweries(Kirin, in this case) rarely seem to succeed at making really good beer. The food is fine, nothing special. The atmosphere of the restaurant is good at least. It’s part of the actual Kirin Brewery facility so you could combine a beer(s) and food here with a tour of the brewery if that’s your thing(must be booked in advance). All that said, since the location is fairly out of the way, and the place is a little hard to find, if you’re looking for a good meal and good beer and you’re in Yokohama, you’d be better off staying in the vicinity of Kannai or Yokohama station than hauling yourself way out to Spring Valley Brewery. *Non-smoking*
