If you’re planning to go, grab your picnic blanket, a book, and a bottle of wine once it gets a little warmer. You’ll get to feel the breeze from the ocean and enjoy the nature at the same time. There’ll be tourists all over the park, but most of them will just walk the path and won’t step into the grassy area. There’s bathrooms(clean enough) and convenience store so you’ll get to buy snacks there too. There’s not many alcohol selections there so really recommend to get something before you get there.

This is a great place for a stroll or a run or, on a quiet weekday, to read a book. The view of the skyline is gorgeous pretty much anytime. I recommend walking from the Motomachi end of the park toward Minatomirai to really take it all in. You’re mainly there for the waterfront view but many of the little and big monuments/statues have significance to local history, so look for the descriptions if that’s your thing. Pro Tip: While the former railway bridge now an elevated strollway from the park toward Aka Renga Sōko(Red Brick Warehouse) is nice(especially if you like the Customs Building/Queen tower), walking under it lets you see a couple cool pictures of the area before earthquakes and bombings. But the view of the skyline from alongside the cool World Time building(Blue Blue Yokohama) with the boats in the foreground is really what I’m recommending this way for.

I love strolling through this park. I often walk over here after eating brunch in Chinatown and then stroll through the park back to Minatomirai. If offers a beautiful view of the Minatomirai skyline and there’s usually a street performer or two on the weekend. Grab a picnic blanket and just enjoy the Yokohama vibe.
