Probably my favorite style of ramen I’ve had so far, Tonkotsu-Shouyu, is served at it’s best here. A coworker of mine who is somewhat of a ramen expert informed me that this is the shop that in fact started the now famous Yokohama Tonkotsu-Shouyu blended style of ramen. You may have to wait in line for some time depending on the time you arrive, however in my opinion it is worth it. There are other shops in Yokohama with this style of ramen! Even if you don’t end up going to Yoshimura-ya itself, try one of the other shops with Tonkotsu-Shouyu style.

I had the regular ramen. Soup was excellent tonkotsu broth. Medium thick noodles matched the soup perfectly. I love these medium thick noodles. Chashu was okay. I am so glad I came here for my first bowl of ramen on this trip to Japan. The 30 minute wait was definitely worth it. You cannot find this quality Ie-Kei in the US. Or come to think of it, I don’t know of any Ie-Kei in the US.

The Best Ramen in the world!!! This is the ORIGINAL Yokohama style ramen(Iekei Ramen). Yokohama style is like Tonkotsu Ramen, but even better. The broth is called«Tonkotsu-Shoyu». It’s thicker than Tonkotsu ramen. And its noodle is very thick, too. You’ll enjoy not only the ramen and the broth but also the pork. I cannot explain exactly, but their pork is very different from the other ramen shops(Better!!). Not only their food is good, but also their price is very friendly to anyone. If you want a good ramen, you usually pay about 800 Yen or even more. But here, the price is very affordable.

This place is my one of two ramen rem shop that I like. Was on vacay with the wifey for 14 days and visited 10 ramen shop. This shop definitely is my fav. Tonkotsu ramen is to die for. I am currently having ramen withdrawals being back in state. Lol marked 4 star because I am on a mission to find a holly Grail though this place could be the one.

Looking for awesome ramen in Yokohama? According to locals this is the spot. The first time, there was some strange after taste for me(maybe due to it being so busy), however the second time was not there. Nonetheless, both times were delicious. If you’re coming here, be prepared to wait since at times it can have 25 – 50 people waiting(going to end of the block); it does move quite fast since they seat people in groups of 10 or so at a time.
