A little off the beaten path, but well worth the short walk. Large variety of meats and veggies on a stick. A lot of the veggies are wrapped in bacon. Do not miss the avocado a gratin, out the kimchi fried rice. Staff speaks very good English and menus are in English as well. All the food is served steaming hot and is simply delicious. It’s cash only at this time, but the staff says they are trying to get a cc machine soon.

Bacon and Yakitori is one of the best combos ever! While it’s far more pricey than most Yakitori spots, the variety and taste make it absolutely worth it. You can get everything from the traditional stuff like chicken(or chicken meatball or beef tongue) to vegetables wrapped in bacon and other stuff like garlic shoots and lotus root. You can also get main dishes such as rice and noodles and appetizers as well. The drink selection is plentiful as you can get beer, wine, cocktails and chu-his. It’s so good that it can get packed really quickly upon opening. There is also a point system in place in which you can he free food and drink after enough check-ins. Hisago is only within a few minutes walking distance from Shioiri Station, so check it out if you’re in Yokosuka!

The menu is not limited to skewers. Fried rice, noodles, etc. But people do go for the yakitori… Aside from the chicken, chicken parts and beef, you have the option to order a variety of bacon wrapped veggies: asparagus, tomatoes, lotus root… You may top with cheese or mentaiko. It’s really quite delicious! It’s a small restaurant, so it may be hard to get a seat after 7. It’s an authentic spot to take visiting guests, not too pricey(cash yen only) and super delicious.

Pretty much the best yakitori that you’re going to find in the local area. Outstanding quality and freshness of the ingredients, not to mention a great side menu with items ranging from avocado gratin to daikon salad to mussels in white wine. And lets not forget all the bacon wrapped deliciousness on a stick to go along with ice cold Asahi, it just doesn’t get any better than that. Highly recommended but be warned it gets busy with a good mix of local Japanese and gaijin from the base, so try to get there early if you can!
