A few days ago, I wanted chicken wings so I naturally turned to Unilocal.Kinchan showed up probably because of the amazing gyoza stuffed chicken. I have to say that Robert G nailed the review and I was sold! I made it a mission to wander the alleys to find this place! It’s not that hard to find if you can navigate past the old Friday’s. But it’s tricky if you don’t have your bearings. As other Unilocalers said, the gyoza is great. I expected the cheese gyoza to be a fried dumpling filled with only cheese, but it’s your typical(flavorful) pork gyoza with some melty gooey cheese added. Yum! The chicken stuffed gyoza was amazing. My husband and son each ordered the gyoza soup, served in a large bowl filled with steamed dumplings, cabbage and other veggies. It was a large serving, but both finished. The prices were great and food was delicious. Be prepared for a bath or shower afterwards, though. You will smell smokey.

This place is a Gyoza Izakaya. 1. If you don’t like smoking restaurants, stop. 2. If you don’t like small places in back alleys, stop. 3. If you don’t mind 1 or 2 and love good food read on. This place does multiple types of pork based Gyoza that kin-chan makes. The menu is small but awesome. The regular Gyoza are vegetable, mixed with pork. Everything is mixed with pork so don’t order shrimp and think it will be shrimp only… The cheese Gyoza is amazing, no sauce needed. The chicken wing Gyoza was bizarre and re-defined great idea while drunk. I ate here sober, but you had to be drunk to replace a Gyoza wrapper with a chicken wing… The rice orders are small, but everything has flavor. If you find it, you won’t be disappointed.

I really would give this place 4.5 stars…0.5 off since the air conditioning was broken when we ate here. So it was hot! Still the little old guy cooking is working like crazy, and he is the one who has to realize the most that the A/C is broken. The place was crowded, we saddled up to the bar and ordered cheese gyoza, vegetable gyoza(really what I would call regular) and shrimp gyoza. All three were excellent. The vegetable gyoza is not vegetarian, it just means a lot of vegetables in with the pork filling. The«skin» on the gyoza was great. What I mean, as the gyoza cooks it gets a little bit of fried starch that comes with the gyoza, extra crispy tidbits if you will. After we were satisfied with the first order we moved on to the gyoza chicken wings… very tasty also. We will definitely comeback when the outside temperatures have cooled down. Still, the food was awesome.

This tiny little Gyoza joint… I like it. Gets pretty smokey cuz there ain’t no designated smoking area but who cares when you eating gyoza?! My fav was the chicken wing gyoza. The shrimp gyoza was a little on the soft side. The shiso gyoza, nice but it would be if they had some Kari Kari umeboshi in it mmmhmm. I do wish they had a regular juicy ass pork gyoza… The nankotsu(cartilage) gyoza was good too.
