The Steak Hut is the most popular stall at Suzi’s corner any day of the week(except on Tuesday when they are closed). They open at 6pm and if you don’t get there early, be prepared to wait at least half an hour for your food. The service is super efficient and you will be attended to almost immediately upon taking your seat. But the wait for your steak can be as long as hour. The choice of steak is decent and for the price you pay(between RM30−40) you get a pretty good steak dish. You can choose between black pepper, garlic or brown sauce and whether you want the steak served sizzling or not. While waiting or your food, you will be served with a simple soft bun first to take away the munchies(as mentioned, you could wait between 30 – 45 minutes on a busy day for your food). They also have other food like chicken chop, fish and chips, lamb chop and grilled salmon. Obviously the ambience is more Mamak than Upscale, but for the price you pay you really can’t complain. Expect to see a lot of expats here and a long wait for a table if you arrive after 7pm.

The steak hut at Suzi’s Corner is one of the most affordable places for me to get a well cooked steak. This stall is super busy on weekends and you’ll have to wait 45mins to an hour just to get your food. they serve everything western, like fish and chips, chicken chop and steak. One steak costs about RM30-RM35 which is really cheap in comparison to going to a nice restaurant. Because this place where the steak hut is located is pretty much a mamak, its cheaper. Of course you don’t get the ambiance of a nice steak house but hey the steak is damn good so who cares. The fish and chips are good too, very fresh. If you don’t appreciate the 1 hour wait for your food then its best to come here on a weekday but not a friday.

I’ve honestly felt like the bulk of my life has been wasted and somewhat unfulfilled when it wasn’t until recently that I discovered this humble food court nestled in Jalan Ampang. My advice is to head over early and get a spot before the masses begin to congregate and you’re left standing idle. What has been the draw for this place over the years has been the steaks at the Steak Hut, and make no mistake about it, they’re pretty satisfying and for the price and portion, they’re an absolute steal. Served up on a sizzling hot plate with the option of either a brown, garlic or black pepper sauce, the steaks here go up to only Rm32 for a monstrous slab of meat. While delicious, I wouldn’t necessarily place the quality of the steaks as the best out there, you certainly get good value for money especially if you’re just looking for you meat fix but for the serious steak eaters you may want to give this place a pass.
