— No water served. — I’m very unsatisfied by the lack of water. — There used to be water. — I do not support establishments, who through their previous favorable ratings, decide to stop serving water, and to only charge RM2 for bottled water. — Set up is very nice, all wooden furniture. Lighting is yellow and comfortable for a late night hang out. — Loud environment due to small set up with the music a tad bit loud. — Young attractive customers and baristas. — Seriously, no water. — HCT(ham cheese tomato) sandwich in a panini was actually well done and tasteful. RM13 — Flat White was subtlely bitter. RM10

Saturday Afternoon. What to do after lunch? When one has not met with friends for a long time, it’s a need/must to catch up with desserts or tea. Hence, my babes and I were here. =D After a heavy lunch, we decided to change scene and ended up at ReKindle *Thank to one of their recommedation*. It rained heavily today. Oh gawd, bad rain. Luckily there were parking on the same row as Rekindle. So, place was fine and cosy. There were so many choices of dessert or cakes. From mille crepes to cakes~! OHMYGAWD. *My stomach was still full from lunch*…But the desserts look super tempting. From peanut butter chocolate cake to red velvet to vanilla mille crêpe to macaroons. WEWERESPOILTFORCHOICES! After eliminating and choosing and contemplating, we had a verdict. So we tried bacon bits on mille crêpe and apple crumble mille crêpe. Drinks: Earl grey tea and a cuppa of hot chocolate for the rainy day. Unfortunately, we had a slight problem. The ladies and gents. There were water supply problem i think? So, the toilets were… blocked. LOL. which means we don’t get to pee or wash hands. After like 20 minutes, i HAD to use the washroom and the guy allowed me to. =D The funniest part was. when C(I will just use initials of their names) wanted to use the washroom, the guy just went and block the washroom with some chairs. LOL. she was at the verge so she just got in the washroom no matter what. Verdict? We finished the two slices of mille crêpe within minutes. Prolly it’s soooooo goood! Hot chocolate was normal with a slightly bitterness. Earl grey tea — the usual. Nothing to shout about. But the cakes. are REALLYGOOD! Overall experience: 4⁄5(Only problem was the toilet!) Price Rating: 5⁄5(Worth every single ringgit!)

On a ghastly Tuesday night after a meeting with my friends at Classroom Café, I visited Rekindle once more with Aaron and Andy. As usual, I would order the Mixed Berries smoothie that I enjoy drinking so much. Sadly today, the staff mentioned there were none available. So, I gave the Guava and Honey Juice a try as recommended by them. On top of that, the price of the drink is equivalent as the smoothie(MYR12). This is my first time trying a guava, what more a guava juice.
When the drink arrived, I gave it a sip. Honestly, I thought it would have been bad since I haven’t tried Guava before but surprisingly it was good and refreshing. I would rate it about 7⁄10. However, I couldn’t really taste the honey. I realize the taste of guava is a little too strong causing the absence of honey. Overall, the drink is value for money and it was not too sweet, which is great for those people who are concern about their sugar level in their blood. I would recommend you guys to actually give it a try if you have a gloomy or doleful day. Who knows, this drink might actually be a remedy for you to get back up on track!

The enticing warm lighting from the store window prompted me to pop into Rekindle SS2 to check out the place while I was just done with dinner around the area. The cakes are outsourced and are mostly alcoholic hence the higher price as one slice can go up to RM16. I love the acoustic music playlist that night as it was such a nice environment to chill and the café wasn’t too crowded as well. I was also seated on a table which was made out of an ancient sewing machine — really creative! I ordered an Upside Down drink which was basically a nutella coated glass filled with milk and topped with vanilla ice cream! It sounded like such a treat when I read it on the menu. However I thought that the milk should have been slightly hot instead to melt the nutella further as all I got was milk since the nutella was stuck to the glass. Overall, the prices here are a little steep for me when it comes to drinks and cakes.

I have been to the one at SS2, Petaling Jaya, but find that the space is a bit too cramp as there are a lot of customers and it can be noisy at times. However, Rekindle in Damansara Utama is opposite of it, less noise and definitely more spacious. I ordered Ice Mocha and it was perfect, not too sweet and not too thick. The staff were all extremely friendly and they were very attentive towards our needs. Service was great and they made us feel very welcomed and warm. Thumbs up to customer service! There are a few more other café’s on the same row such as Epicuro and POKC. So, Damansara Utama is definitely a place to hang out! At Rekindle, there is an outdoor and indoor seating. Oh, not to forget! Their wide selection of cakes. You will definitely be spoilt for choice! Nothing much to complain about, Satisfied.

I was one of the first few customers who has visited this place the moment they opened. They used to serve only coffee & cakes alone. Today they have proper sandwich offerings that would keep your tummy satisfied anytime of the day. They were one of the first few conceptual woodish & raw looking decorations to have sprouted. They have an outdoor area friendly for smokers and cozy indoors for those who wants to escape the heat wave. There’s also a corner with 2 bean bags for the potato couches. I particularly vouch their coffee because they do make them just as I like it. Their roast beef sandwich is one of my favorite dish to order whenever I find myself hungry when I’m here. The biggest drawback i find is that they do not serve plain water for free. They do make you buy their bottled mineral water if you want just water. It’s such a bad move to make your patrons pay extra in return of creating more plastic waste for the earth.

In a place like Uptown, cafes and anything that is related to coffee is basically anywhere and everywhere, hidden or blatantly staring at your face with its caffeine fuelled smell wafting in the air, enticing you to enter its premises. For Rekindle Café, everything, including the coffee, is terribly so. Unlike most cafes, it did not have its name plastered all over the walls, thus giving it a mysterious feel to it. Of course, the ambience has a rustic feel to it, which complements to a late night drink or hangout area for friends and acquaintances. I did try their menu: latte and vanilla mille crêpe cake. The coffee has a slightly smoother and deeper taste in comparison to the other lattes I have tasted, and less acidic, which means that there are more caffeine than usual. Do only try this if you are ready to spend the night with your eyes open and your heart pumping. Its vanilla mille crêpe cake is light on the sugar, and is well suitable for those who prefer a light snack to end the night with. All in all, this is a good café to begin with. The stairs in the café leads to a dart throwing area, where more entertainment awaits. I really like this place, although caffeine heavy drinks could cost you a few hours of sleep, and many more hours of teeth gritting.
