Crab Factory

Due to my recent helpless craving for crabs, yabbies and lobsters, I finally visited this place that had been long discussed among my friends and on Unilocal itself! To be fair, my craving and expectation hadn’t been brought down after my visit — which is a good thing!
Another great thing — they are doing yabbie and slipper lobster promotion for this month, which if you get 500grams each you could get it at a lesser price. I was thrilled, really.
As I read on Unilocal that someone was happy about their yabbies, so I had higher expectation but it’s A-​OK — not in anyway bad though. It’s still fresh. The slipper lobster is good, juicy and fresh meat.
About the sauce, please remember to ask for the mild one if you’re not someone who can take spicy food. Don’t even try the medium spicy sauce, as it’s actually super spicy. People who can’t take spicy food too well will struggle in enjoying their crab and shellfish.

Fresh seafood, American style.
I first visited Crab Factory when they were new.
The establishment is decorated with Louisiana memoirs and a-​lot of fishing gear.
The seafood here is really fresh and made to order. We had the snails, crayfish and the squid, all of which was served in a plastic bag.
The sauces were one of a kind and gave a very authentic Louisiana flavour to the seafood.
It was quite messy, thank god for the bibs!
The only downside is that the restaurant is really popular, so you’d have to call ahead to make a reservation. The management will only allocate a certain time limit for the reservation and expects you to vacate before the other party arrives.

I love the concept they have, people posing with aprons and then with wooden benches looking so much like a foreign spot and then there’s no plates at all, just plastic and paper lol
Pretty interesting. Well good concept always comes with a good price. And yes, the price is not so much a winner here. I would rather pay the same amount and go to some chines seafood restaurant to have all the crab i want. Yes they came in a package like there’s crab and mussels and everything, but er, quite pricey lah.
Food taste will be considered as so far so good, not like «I will definitely come back again» but more like «I’ll see how la next time.»
So yeah, for the experience, you can definitely go ahead with it :)

This outlet only recently opened late last year (2014). It is exactly as it is named — basically you come here and satisfy your crab cravings!
Stepping in, the setting is modern, rustic and tough-​looking, almost as though you’re ready to battle crabs. Don’t come to Crab factory in your best dressed attire, it will end up getting stained anyways (although a plastic bib is provided but not 100% foolproof). The menu is organised and simple. Basically, you choose your seafood of choice, the spiciness level, which sauce you want and any sides you wish to add on.
When I came here with a group of friends, we ordered 1kg of crabs, some mussels and prawns. The secret sauce they use as the seafood marinade is simply amazing and so delicious — you’d be craving for more! Be prepared to get down and dirty with crabs, and other than it’s excellent food menu, it’s the crab-​eating experience here that makes it all the more unique!
So if you’re looking for delicious fresh seafood and a one-​of-​a-​kind experience and not afraid to get your hands dirty (literally), get to Crab Factory and start feasting!

Okay, for a start, I love the décor of this place, it’s all wood and metal, definitely comfy enough to hang out without having to sit back to back. It’s amazing how this corner joint can fit these long communal tables but it just goes to show how their signature dish should be enjoyed — together. Fresh shellfish is what you should look for, it’s hard to eat anything else. Cue: Crab factory? We were feeling indulgent that night so we chose fresh water prawns, fried baby squid and a half portion of meat crabs. How it works here is that you can choose your choice of seafood, and then the sauce (I recommend the garlic butter or the ultimately spicy Shebang), then add on 2 free sides (we took corn and button mushrooms). If you are feeling snacky, go for the southern fried chicken wings. Yup, they are not only into crab but poultry as well and they do it justice.

I can never have enough of seafood and my fiancé knows that well enough. She surprised me a year ago on my birthday. I thought she would have brought me to Rekindle café instead!
The seafood here is just amazing, you just have to get messy with your hands. Don’t worry the restaurant will provide you with a large bib so the sauce won’t platter onto you.
There’s a variety of styles for you to choose how would you like your seafood to be done. Seafood: Crabs, prawns, squids and shellfish.
We went for the crabs, and went crazy eating the succulent meat of the shells. Oh, I want more crabs !

Whoever love to eat like a messy child, COME TO Crab Factory! if you wanna eat like a lady, THINK TWICE YA haha, because this is what so unique about crab factory! this is their culture!

Do not forgot to mention, they have special happy hour for Monday, Wednesday and thursday. It will be Combos like Mussels and Prawns Combo, Crab and Prawns Combo, Yabbies and Prawns Combo. Highly recommend you guys to try Crab and Prawns Combos because i think this combination is really really tempting and yummy! You can also order these sea creature by indivitual if you prefer :), there is side dish like potato fried fries and pasta :)

At the Crab Factory you can be prepared to do away with the fancy dining utensils and tableware, and just get to hands-​on eating. All you need to do is pour your delicious seafood out onto tables covered with plastic sheets. A plastic bib is provided to protect your clothes from the mess.
That is, if you don’t mind splurging a bit on quality fresh seafood once in a while, this is definitely the place to come for some enjoyable seafood of your choice. Try the Cajun style, as with it’s aromatic herbs and spices it will be on your mind for days. You get to choose from a wide variety of seafood served with garlic butter and CF’s signature «Southern Bang» sauces. There are four levels of «heat»: Mild, Medium, Holy Crab and Death Valley. Do note that the latter can be seriously lethal, not for the faint-​hearted.
So if you’re ever in the mood for seafood but are tired of the Asian fare, maybe it’s time to see how Louisiana does it. Be prepared to bring a big wallet though as fresh seafood here do not come cheap.
