The Beer Factory

After they announced that Beer Factory has closed down, we heard that there is something new that will take over the place. We went over to TBF for our Christmas eve dinner. To our surprise it is still TBF which stands for The Beer Factory but what was different is that now they have a brand new menu for food. we tried the Waffle Hashed Benedict. Sounds awesome right? My favourite of waffle and egg benedicts finally be combined into one dish together. The waffle is made our of potatoes. What goes well with with beer? Oh yea Salted Egg Fried Chicken Wings, it was uberly good, fried wings coated with salted egg and chili. Food was decent however the crowd wasn’t that happening as compared to last time which was a letdown, however we should give them some time to actually gain more customers just like before.

tbf has a relaxed ambiance at night, especially at the outdoor seatings by the «lake», which makes it a nice place to hang out with friends and let loose with some booze.
I decided to try tbf’s pineapple margarita, which was very refreshing. The strawberry margarita was lacking in zest however. Also, tbf offers several promos for beer buckets and other drinks, which are affordable priced for a higher end concept café/​pub.
If you’re looking to fill your tummy, tbf serves finger foods and main courses too. The downside is the prices are pretty steep, the average price for a meal (drink and food) may cost RM50.
The service I received here was great. The waiter was super friendly and efficient. He checked on us occasionally, cleaned our table and ashtray whenever necessary.

Tbf is a reinterpretation of The Beer Factory (hence the same acronyms) into a café concept to cater to the increasing demand of hip cafes in the Klang Valley. A place known for drunkardness and debauchery, The Beer Factory has taken on a tamer façade and transformed its dark and bar-​like interior into something interestingly café-​esque. And just like its façade, the menu has also been completely revamped.
I was quite surprised to see The Beer Factory transforming into tbf at SetiaWalk, considering how big a Beer Factory outlet it had been. It used to host big BPL viewing parties in its heyday. Alas, the café trend rears its pretentious heads and refuses to be ignored.
As it appears to follow the transformation of The Beer Factory in Sunway Giza (shocking), tbf offers the same café-​styled food that is actually pretty good. The only thing holding me back from giving this a 4-​star rating is the price. A buttermilk pasta with soft shell crab costs almost RM40, while other dishes, drinks and coffee are priced slightly on the high end. Can’t complain about the quality of food though.
If you’re disappointed about not being able to get wasted at tbf anymore just like I am, fret not. The café façade hasn’t robbed this place from its debauched identity. You can order beers by the bottle or from the tap, just like how you used to be able to in Beer Factory. Now why would they waste a perfectly good alcohol license?
