Lim Chicken Rice is the quintessential chinese chicken rice shop. It’s minimalist interior with white tiles and small tables does not scream«Hey try me! I’m delicious» but nothing can be further from the truth. Rather, the simple interior serves to amplify the one thing that this restaurant does best; the food! While most restaurants in Subang goes overboard with their decorations and theme, this restaurant just focuses on the food. The roast chicken is the best I’ve had anywhere. It is not too dry and not too salty, with flavors that will hit you viscerally and leaves you waiting for the next moment your stomach is empty again so that you can eat more. The service is fast even during lunch hours. The prices are cheap whereby one serving of rice + roasted chicken is only RM6. Biggest downside is the restaurant closes when they run out of chicken which is about 2PM. The tables only sit four and you can’t combine them since there is not much room to allow that. I was reluctant to write this review since I love this restaurant so much and I hope it won’t get too crowded once people know it’s really delicious. But alas my conscience wouldn’t allow me since I am a pious Muslim and I want some pahala. Oh and its halal(there’s a certificate)!

I’m glad that I found a simple chicken rice place near my home in Subang. I like Lim’s very much! The auntie preparing the chicken rice is super nice, and they are table service business so sit down and the auntie will ask you what you want. The menu is on the wall for you to make your decision, very hard to miss. The place itself is simple, nothing fancy or pretentious which I really like. Chicken rice was yummy! I don’t like it when my chicken is either super dry and chewy or wet and just full of oil and fat. Both would make me cringe, ew. But at Lim’s, the chicken was fresh, not dry, not too salty, and not fatty(assuming that they cooked ayam kampung because the skin was crispy and yummy too). Portion was not too big but absolutely the perfect amount for myself and my friend who are both women of small sizes, but perhaps for those with bigger stomaches, probably 2 plates of rice and chicken will be good for you? :) eat one portion then if you’re still hungry, order another! They’re service is really fast too. It was RM10.50 for my chicken rice, milo kosong and teh ais. Not very expensive! Pleasant visit will definitely go again!
