Really nice atmosphere, friendly staff, they served us a small sope as an amuse-bouche. Very nice! We had enchilada’s and grandma’s special chicken dish and it was all very fresh tasting. Wonderful salsa’s too. Two entrée’s and three delicious margaritas and the tab was only $ 37USD plus tip. Amazing value. Seemed like there were a lot of returning customers dining there. Oh, and they will get you a taxi as well. Cash only.

We really enjoyed the this restaurant. We had 6 people order 6 different items. They were all great! We particularly liked the special chicken. We also like chile relleño. Mama’s special drink is also refreshing and unique.

What a fabulous find! Thanks Unilocalers! Lovely restaurant with friendly service, a live Mariachi band for part of our meal, colorful and inviting décor with plants lining the walls, and most importantly, delicious food. I had the green chile chicken enchiladas which came with rice, beans, and guac. They were delicious and flavorful though not spicy, topped with lettuce and tomato. Also had a pounded chicken breast smothered in a delicious garlicky sauce with beans and rice and guac. I am not normally a chicken eater, let alone white meat chicken eater, but both of these dishes were simply divine. Our two dishes and beer came to under $ 20. I don’t know what magic they employ but no complaints here! Now the question for me is how to fit another meal in before we take off…

This is traditional Mexican food and average at best. We were seated in main dining area when you first walk in. This made for not such a great environment. I suggest you ask for a table below. Service was good, not great like other places we have been in Cabo. Food was just OK. Sea bass was OK, nothing memorable. Carne Asada was not good at all. It was tougher than other places and sauce was horrible. I did not finish. I would recommend several other Mexican restaurants before this.

What a great find! The only reason I’m giving it four stars is because they only take cash, so make sure you have enough. They also had the exchange rate listed as less than it actually was, so carry and pay in pesos. That being said, the food was AMAZING. You can watch the cooks prepare everything in the small open-air kitchen. The chile relleno with shrimp was so delicious and so generous! There were maybe a dozen pieces of shrimp in the dish. My hubby had the divorced enchiladas– what a great way try a couple different flavors. The homosexual flour tortillas were to die for. The only reason we didn’t eat dessert was because we were so full. I can’t recommend this place enough– do not miss it on your trip!

We do not give 5 stars lightly; but, after coming to Cabo for over 20 years and you discover what you been missing… well it’s time to drop a 5 on the one deserving place in the village. Brother-in-Law Dave deserves all the credit for this find. The décor is quaint back street authentic Mexico that should be featured in any famous beach cottage magazine. From the minute you walk in you catch the atmosphere with aromas of freshly made home cooked food. We had Tortilla Soup, Mushroom Quesadilla, Sea Bass done in a garlic wine sauce — delicious. The Margarita’s weren’t too bad either. A picture is worth a sound words so be sure to look them over here and plan on a visit to MJ’s the next time you are in Cabo San Lucas, MX Warning: they are so good they DONOT accept credit cards. Cash only

We were looking for a spot for a late lunch, and I’m so glad we found Maria Jimenez! We got there right as they opened at 2pm and had the entire place to ourselves! Excellent service, beautiful atmosphere and fantastic food! We had guacamole and traditional red enchiladas, plus a few margaritas. So delicious! Can’t wait to get back there in a few weeks when we return to Cabo!

We stayed at the Sheraton Hacienda deal Mar in our recent trip to Cabo and wanted to step outside the resort for some local food. Maria Jimenez didn’t disappoint. I had steak fajitas and my wife had the marinated chicken, both of which were excellent. Add in three margaritas(one each and one«dessert» variety [blended mango] to share) and we exited for about $ 60. We will absolutely be going back to this wonderful family-run restraint.

We went to María Jímenez for my husband’s birthday. We were welcomed out of the cab by staff, who sat us immediately. We all enjoyed our margaritas and amazing guacamole – and complementary sopitas with three different kinds of salsa! The enchiladas, chile relleno, and skirt steak were all big hits. We could not finish our meal because portions were so large – they boxed up our leftovers for us so that we could take our seconds home. Before we left, the staff surprised us with chocolate cake and ice cream served to my husband with a very loud, fun happy birthday song. We were all so pleased to have tried out this little gem off of the beaten path. It is a family business and has a thatched roof over brick walls with lots of beautiful décor and atmosphere. Come here for the wonderful food, fabulous service, and great prices.

Great service, great food, felt very authentic but also clean and safe with a great atmosphere. My wife and I split a combination and it was about the right amount of food. The chips and guacamole were also top notch! I couldn’t get enough o my the hotter salsa on the table as well, yum!

We stayed at the Puerto Bonito Sunset during our visit here. We ate at 2 restaurants at the resort, 1 restaurant at the Marina and 2 in Town(Maria’s and La Terminal) At Maria’s my wife had the Fajita’s Steak for One and I had the Stuffed Chili Relleno Pepper. The Fajitas were fantastic and the dish I had was also very good. The Salsa Verde is excellent, the Salsa Caliente(you must ask for it) was GREAT and the standard smoky salsa that comes out with the chips was also very good. The white queso was good as well and of course the guacamole was YUMMY! As you will find out in Cabo the Chips at almost all local restaurants, including the resort restaurants leave something to be desired. That means they usually overcooked, to thick and bland. But at Maria’s, while made of the same kind of tortilla, their chips are better but not«great» which is why I gave it 4 stars. We paid $ 100USD for our meal which included 6 – 8 alcoholic drinks which even still is very expensive. Please note they do not open until 2PM daily. Alberto Jimenez was our Host and he was FANTASTIC! — Texas Trey’s

The food was excellent and so was the service. We tried their carne asada as well as a very yummy shrimp item they had on the menu and they were both fantastic. I also loved the Jalapeño margarita, you must try it if you like margaritas. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My goal was to see how a standard like nachos were done in Mexico. And after the nachos at Maria Jimenez’s, I have seen the light. They don’t know anything drastically different, but all the small things are just better. The nachos were chips, beans, cheese, and pork with additional add-ons of pico and pickled jalapenos. Whether it was the homemade tortillas, the use of black beans instead of pinto, or some secret Mexican cheese, these nachos were a leap ahead of anything I’ve ever had. Highly, highly recommended. Plus, the complimentary sope was a nice touch!

Had to get an evening snack and Unilocal brought us to Maria Jimenez. Even though there were only gringos in the restaurante, I’m still glad we came! The décor wowed me with its vibrant colors, thick tablecoths, and ample flowers. Even the flatware was colorful and the pepper shaker was in the shape of a pepper. I appreciate the commitment to the theme. Our server was kind and we were seated easily. Although it was dinner time, only two other parties were present. We were so satisfied with our order of nachos. The jalapeños were delicious, and the mixture of carne, cheese, beans, and nachos brought our dining experience to new heights. I ate so aggressively that I embarassingly spilled carne all over the tablecloth. Although MJ is a bit more expensive than other places in the neighborhood, our meal was definitely worth it. Qué rico todo fue! Me encantará regresar para más.

We drove around forever trying to find this restaurant. We were glad when we finally found it. We enjoyed the guacamole and chips.(Mexico has the best avocados!) We shared chicken fajitas. One order was plenty for two people. The homemade tortillas were delicious! The server was friendly and checked on us several times throughout the meal. The rice and beans were good as well. I felt like we were eating at a friends home. Simple, good, homemade food :)

I have been reading about this place for two years now and finally made it here. We loved our food, our service and the atmosphere. The prices were great too. I had the shrimp Diablo, my daughter had the spinach and mushroom quesadilla and her friend had tortilla soup and salad. Along with bottled waters, flan and a margarita our bill came to $ 57. Excellent value. I highly recommend it mm end coming here.
