I stayed at the Oasis Sens as a VIP and loved the hotel, rooms and staff, the only downside this hotel had –Daniel, the assistant manager at The Box. When staying as a VIP you get one free dinner at The Box. We booked in 4 days in advance after walking in on our first evening at the hotel and been told by Daniel that he couldn’t possibly fit us in for dinner because we were supposed to book and not just expect a table. The Box(as shown in the photos) is a tiny bar with bar tables. When you are a new guest, it would have been nice to have been greated with a smile and not talked down to like a bothering customer. I had only enquired about dinner for 2 and we were appropriatly dressed, after been spoken to rudely. We booked a table for 4 days time. In between those 4 days(per the service information supplied, as shown in photos), we noticed that you can just turn up at The Box(without booking) to get a late night snack between 22:00 — 23:00, we skipped dinner one night to wait for a late night snack, at about 21:30 we popped into The Box and had another chance to speak to Daniel, we polietly asked if it was correct that you turn up between 22:00 — 23:00, he replied with ‘why would you book?, of course we are open for snacks in 30 minutes!’ and with that he turned and walked away. # This assistant seems to be at The Box at all times and is the first to come flying over to the door as soon as someone walks in, he is fast but there are no smiles and you feel as though you are being greated by a dog with a wasp in it’s mouth! 30 minutes passed and we went back, the door was locked and he just looked at us through the glass door, sneering and laughing with one of his staff members, who then looked over and sarcasticly waved at us. We honestly have no clue why he was so rude, we never upset him and we were always friendly, well dressed and polite. As he went to turn the lights out, he opened the door and snapped at us saying, we are shut, we do not do any late night snacks-you are wrong, it is reservation only and we close everyday at 22:00. If this is the case, why did he lie to us earlier and why does it show clearly on the information sheet the times. Daniel is wrong and is not managing the bar very well. I went to advise the front desk the next day and was informed that he is only an assistant and the manager is Admin, unfortunatly we were leaving the next day so I did not have time to speak with Admin. I only hope this let’s the manager know of our experience. I would like to add that after all of the above, we decided to not show for our dinner reservation we had made 4 days prior. The reservation we made was for a special occasion and on our last day, Daniel did not give off a happy or good vibe and therefor we did not want to be in this bar one bit. Admin, it could be a wonderful bar and is pretty, if you have exquist managers it would be a great place to be!
