Bar Tradicional Luna

I went here twice in two days, and both times I was very satisfied. The first time I went, which was my first meal in Guanajuato, I had the fajitas de arrachera, which were some of the juiciest and most tender fajitas I’ve ever had in my life (they also came with a side of chorizo, a nice added bonus). I returned the following night and had the tampiqueña, and again, the steak was outstanding.
Both times, the service was solid. The menu was brought promptly, botanas were served while waiting for the entrée (sliced jicama and cucumbers with Tajin the first time, popcorn the second), and the entrée was brought within a very reasonable timeframe. The waitstaff was cordial, and while I speak fairly proficient Spanish, I did observe them speaking English on both occasions to other tables.
Must go! And do yourself a favor and have the steak!

We stopped in here looking to find a place with a great selection of tequila and we weren’t disappointed. Not only do they have a huge selection of tequila and mixed drinks, they also have a great selection of pretty much any other booze you want. Everyone can find something here they like.
The atmosphere on the patio was lively and fun. Mariachis roamed the area and people laughed and buzzed under the patio heaters. There were quite a few people selling things coming up to the tables, and even a few children asking for money who would walk up and tap you on the shoulder, but overall it’s a very fun vibe.
I ordered a Vampiro and it was great. I’ve never been a huge fan of tequila, but I can tell you I couldn’t get enough while in Guanajuato and Bar Traditional Luna was the place that started that.
We also ordered some Papas Luna and they were fantastic fries. Cooked perfectly with lime and chile covering them. A great snack with our drinks and people watching.
This place was packed outside, but surprisingly quiet inside so don’t be deterred if you’d rather find a quiet spot for a drink; just get yourself beyond all the noise on the patio and you’ll be set.

Por algo es el tradicional bar Luna. Es de ley cuando quieres un trago sentadito irse a parar ahí detrás de los árboles del Jardín de la Unión escapando de un barullo para entrar a otro. Es una cantina pero tiene todavía esa elegancia de los años mozos con meseros bien vestidos que te sirven el piquete con todo cuidado. Tiene rockola pero a veces ni hace falta porque de afuera entrará el sonido de las bandas norteñas y mariachis en vivo que tocan en la plaza.
Es el lugar donde voy a beber con mis papás porque tiene no sólo un toque para turistas, sino un ambiente para jóvenes y adultos. La botana te la darán si la pides pero a mí no se me hace rica. Recuerdo unas tostadas con jamón, jitomate. lechuga y crema, pero la verdad prefiero no recordarlas. Es un bar de añazos y que parece que seguirá abierto, espero que hasta que yo esté viejita.

En mis épocas de estudihambre, como dicen por ahí, el bar tradicional Luna servía dos funciones: la primera era proveer alcohol, importante en la época universitaria y segunda, alimentos. Digamos que venir aquí es como matar dos piedras de un pajarazo.
Más que bar es una cantina botanera, con muy buen sazón por si se lo preguntaban, además de tener una buenísima ubicación: el Jardín de la Unión. Entre los asistentes bien se pueden encontrar estudiantes, turistas, viejitos, etc. La fauna es variada y además convive en paz. Es casi un atractivo turístico por derecho propio, pues este bar tiene muchísimos años como una opción para beber y comer con un presupuesto reducidísimo.

¿Cómo me puedo creer que soy el primero en reseñar? Si hasta el truco ya tiene más de 15 reseñas.
El nombre de Bar Tradicional Luna no es coincidencia. Es realmente de los bares más tradicionales de Guanajuato. Turistas, locales, no tan locales. Todos conocen el Bar Luna.
En el hermosa Jardín de la Unión está ubicado, así que la vista la tiene. La terraza hará simplemente más placentera tu tarde, noche o madrugada. Ya dependiendo de la fiesta que manejes.
También de bar no tiene tanto, es más bien una cantina. Dónde pides bebida y llega acompañado de un antojito, sopes, flautas, ya conocen el tipo. También cuenta con menú de alimentos, y obviamente de bebidas.
Un clásico de clásicos en la capital del Estado, y sin duda una experiencia que se tiene que vivir.
