De Mar a Mar

Excellent seafood place to visit if you are around downtown and walking off the tour bus. I went to one of night, not crowded at all. Great food from beginning all the way to the end, a good wine as well. I had mussel with white sauce and is carefully prepared, and it was wonderful. Highly recommended to visit.

Staying at the Marriott Reforma and have eaten here 3 times in the past two weeks and have loved every meal, the best Cevechi I have ever had, usually we are a group of 4 or 5 and nobody has not loved what they ordered.
Definateley be coming back.

Charming little house, but the food was extremely disappointing. Two of us had a completely uninspired tuna tartare on a bed of bland avocado — almost tasteless, and the other person’s pesca del dia was rubbery with plain veggies and white rice. Nothing special at all — and not at all worth the price. Don’t waste your time.

I ordered the white fish lajas (sashimi). This was my favorite part of the meal. It had just the right amount of soy sauce and came with guacamole cream and spicy mayo on the side. Definitely recommend it. My friend got the pulpo ceviche which was very good as well. It had a pesto like sauce. I had the pasta with clams for the entrée which was good, but I wouldn’t get again. My friend had the shrimp tacos (note: they are fried) which she liked and said was a bit tangy but I did not try.

I met some friends who were visiting from Los Angeles. I arrived first and did not know what to think of the place. Unassuming with kind of a New England seafood restaurant look.
It was small, but nice and has a full bar. I had the Mussels which was an excellent choice for an appetizer, my friend had the fried calamari which was very tasty. I had one of the octopus main courses and it was the best I have ever had. Not chewy as usual, but great texture and taste. The prices were very good too. I will definitely be back and soon.

If you are in the neighborhood and you are looking for a cozy dine in, you need not look beyond this great little treasure of a place.
Since the place is branded as a seafood restaurant, we decided to start by trying blue fin tuna ceviches, and they were truly amazing. The fish was fresh, and to my delight did not smell fishy at all. The thin slices of fish were perfectly juicy and its exquisitely balanced marinade was one of the best that I have ever tried. The fish tostadas that we tried were enjoyable too. For the main course, we ordered a tasty grilled fish which was topped with sautéed julienned chilly (not spicy at all), and served with rice and steamed vegetables. The fish was fresh and well cooked, and the dish as a whole was very well balanced.
We did not know Spanish, but the hosts Ismail and Eric did their best to explain the menu to us before we placed our order. The size of the restaurant was perfect to enable them to attend well to the guests.
The non-​alcoholic drink that I ordered was excellent, and my husband enjoyed his wine which was suggested by our host. The meringue dessert was a tad too much too sweet for my taste, but I still did enjoy sharing the beautifully plated dish with my husband.
Would love to go back to this lovely little place during my next visit to Mexico City!!!

solo es bonito por fuera, la comida es cara NO ES FRESCA, los ceviches son refrigerados de varios dias. las porciones pequeñas y sin sabor. hay mejores marisquerías en la zona. pero si quieres ir a «fresear» o verte bien ve a este lugar. el servicio es regular. tienen musica los viernes.

The food is definitely amazing here. I went there with my girlfriend last night. The restaurant was almost empty that time. However, by da time we were ready to order, a lost more people started coming in.
Firstly, the service was just worth to be appraised. Our server not only spent time chatting with us but also tried his best to explain to me everything in English.
Secondly, the food was delicious. If you are down for ceviche and broiled fish, this is the place for you. By the way, try their lemonade.
Last not least, the price is a bit unexpected high. As everyone told me how cheap it was supposed to be. Obviously, that «fact» contradicts with the reality. We spent nearly $ 70 on three plates.

Restaurants in México city don’t have many reviews. This place had a little more info on Unilocal so we came in.
The ambiance was great for a date or a few friends. There’s a bar inside and open kitchen. We ordered Arroz calsado, del Mar a Mar, tinto, and the merengue for dessert. Best part was the chips and salsa they give. Del Mar a Mar was also with chips. You eat with all sorts of raw fish and veggies.
The disappointing part was the dessert. The merengue looked awesome but it’s just a chunk of cream. They also charge for water — $ 35 for a tiny bottle of water.

El mojo de ajo es increible! La unica cosa mala es que siempre es muy llena.

Desde el día uno que fui, han sido experiencias impecables: un menú bien pensado (Gordon Ramsay aprobaría), servicio súper atento, buen ambiente y decoración, y la comida, exquisita. Mi favorito es el arroz caldoso, con la sazón perfecta que de acordarme, me hace salivar, y la cantidad justa de mariscos y de arroz. También la tostada de Mar a Mar es buenísima y los tacos de camarón rebozado. Cada vez que voy tengo ganas de probar todo. De beber, pidan la limonada de la casa o el mojito (si quieren relajarse más, jeje). Adoro la decoración un poco nostálgica como de antiguos amantes que vivieron un romance de puerto marítimo, con detalles desde las mesas hasta el baño. Uno de mis favoritos de la ciudad.

Cada que he venido aquí quedo con ganas de volver pues tanto las bebidas, como los platillos y los postres no tienen igual. Verdaderamente son una delicia.
Empecé por un inigualable mojito, delicioso de principio a fin, luego una marivollosa tostada de mar a mar que viene marivillosamente bien servida (y de lo que cae de esta puede hacerte una 2da tostada), después unos pulpos al ajillo (me trajeron el anillo a parte y yo le puse únicamente el Chile y el ajo ahorrándome el aceite) con una guarnición de arroz blanco y verduras al vapor, estas ultimas etaban realmente al dente. Finalizamos con 3 postres al centro, el merengue con frutos rojos, la tarta de manzana y el brownie de chocolate, todos de lujo pero me quedo con el de manzana y el brownie.
Este lugar lejos de ser caro es costoso pues vale cada peso que pagas, la relación cantidad-​sabor-​precio valen la pena.

Wow! How lucky to stumble into this place. So inviting and the food is top notch. We had white fish ceviche, yellowfin tuna, fish tacos, wine and calamari. Everything was so good. Plus the service was warm and helpful as well.
Compared to everyplace else around the block, De Mar a Mar is a stand-​out. Truly a high-​functioning seafood bistro.

Small place, great seafood and great prices!!! Highly recommend. If you like octopus, this is the place to eat it, fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff is just a nice addition to the food, extremely friendly and very attentive. Staff do it naturally and not expecting that you leave a big tip, I left 15% and the waiter almost rolled a red carpet as I was walking out! I guess they usually get less than that! The décor is minimalist, though very nice and cozy!!!

Absolutely loved this place. Slightly off the beaten track; the fit out is very modest but the food and wine was excellent. We couldn’t find a lot of good restaurants in this area, Zona Rosa, so finding this was a gem.
It’s pretty much seafood all the way, the chefs specialities are raw fish dishes and cerviches, very simple, clean but great flavours! We ordered a selection from the menus to share, bit like tapas; not sure if this is how it’s done but was great to try multiple things.
The wait staff were really friendly, one guy even suggested we’d had ordered too much; he said he would only bring the first 4 dishes before we decided to take the fifth. He was right, it was too much as the portions are pretty big, even for sashimi style dishes (tuna in ginger and soy, amazing!).
Would defiantly come back here next time I’m in Mexico City!

Located just off Reforma in La Zona Rosa, amidst a sea of chain stores and restaurants, this little seafood shack hits all the high notes. Máximo Bistro proprietor Eduardo García is the man who plotted De Mar a Mar’s menu and his ingenuity shines in its offerings.
Everyone I dined with was absolutely delighted with their food the night I came here for dinner. My camarones al ajillo were flawless and the memory of them carried me through my week and is still persistent in my mind months later.
I found the service overbearing and at times a little odd but with food this good, I’m able to look past it.
If you’re after an excellent seafood forward meal look no further!

We had dinner here while traveling on business and staying at the Marriott Reforma which is a short walk of one block. The restraint was very quaint with close seating and an open atmosphere. Overall the food was good and many of the ceviche dishes were very creative. For a main course I had the octopus which was wonderfully prepared and season with a local rub that was very favorable, but not hot. The waiter recommended a nice wine to accompany our meal. Overall, this was a good meal and the service was also very good, but nothing was extraordinary.

Un poco como cuando Murdoch encuentra Shell Beach en Dark City, entrando a de mar a mar, parece que ya no estás en la zona rosa.
Como si la ciudad dejara de molestarte dos minutos para que puedas aprovechar una buena comida.
Me encanta venir aquí ya que ahora me conocen y me tratan como un «regular»: los «Hola Sr Neb» que tanto hacen reír a Gustavo N. llueven cuándo entro.
La tostada de mar a mar es mi favorita para empezar la comida y luego un caldo de camarones (si hay verdaderos camarones en tu plato) o los mejillones me dejan muy satisfecho.
Como lo menciona Mario M en su reseña, los precios pueden parecer altos; pero el servicio, la calidad y las porciones de los platos lo justifican.
Sí eres un Godin perdido en reforma, vente a consentir aquí.

Tengo que decir que en lo personal este lugar no me pareció espectacular. Si bien la decoración es bastante llamativa, creo que la cocina, no es que sea mala ni mucho menos, pero tampoco es lo mejor que he probado en cuanto a mariscos en esta ciudad.
Pero quizá solo soy yo que estaba teniendo un mal día y realmente es muy bueno, porque ahora cada vez que paso por ahí lo veo a reventar. Quizá me animé a probarlo de nuevo. En esa ocasión recuerdo que probé las tostadas de atún y me parecieron bastante estándar, como varias otras que he probado. Un ceviche de pescado… no me acuerdo ni bien de qué era, así de memorable me pareció. Cierto que los productos eran frescos y de calidad.

Es un edificio que parece del puerto un pequeño pueblito americano. Con madera color verde deslavado y ventanas blancas te invita a probar una propuesta culinaria de mariscos en la ciudad. El mobiliario mantiene el mismo estilo, y estanterías viejas y fotografías decoran el lugar que por muy buenos precios te hará pasar una experiencia muy agradable.
El reconocido chef, Eduardo García, es el creador de este proyecto que mezcla los mariscos sinaloenses con la sofisticación francesa en los platillos. Las recetas no son tan distintas en sus ingredientes de otros restaurantes pero sí el sabor y la calidad.
No puedes dejar de pedir la tostada de atún, que siendo universalmente de mis platillos favoritos, aquí esta fuera de control. El filete de pescado con salsa de cilantro es un buen plato fuerte y otro que me encantó fue el arroz con mariscos. También tienen una buena carta de coctelería.

¿Hablamos del mejor restaurante de la Zona Rosa? Si, muy probablemente.
Es una combinación perfecta de estilo, sabor, servicio y ubicación.
Solo he podido acudir una vez el año pasado y me da la impresión que en cuanto cuestión de comida de mar, este local ha puesto el estándar muy alto.
El Interior del lugar mucho se habla; una maravilla del interiorismo y una cocina a la vista de todos que invita a detenerse en todos los detalles de ella.
¿Y la comida? de la mejor. Exquisitas tostadas de pescado y camarones, pescado a la talla en jugos agridulces fue lo que me toco comer a mi esa vez.
Sin embargo, hay muchas otros platillos que me esperan en mi próxima visita y que no quiero perderme por nada del mundo.
Si, «De Mar a Mar». Es tan bueno como dicen o mejor.

Según su página, es cevichería de mercado. Lo cierto es que no veo el mercado por ningún lado, pero la decoración es bastante llamativa y hasta hogareña, con justas barras acomodadas debajo de algunas ventanas, lo que dota de un estilo particular al lugar.
La decoración es responsabilidad del artista visual don Rodo Marinero, quien ha montado distintas escenografías para marcas renombradas de ropa. Pero como esto no se trata de arte, sino de comida, pasemos a lo principal (aunque la comida tiene su arte también).
Las empanadas de camarón que ostentosamente se denominan como envueltas de camarón en el menú son deliciosas, sobre todo en conjunto con las sabrosas salsas tatemadas. Los platillos con guarnición son ricos, pero no llenadores, y las tostadas se elaboran con maíz azul. Todo una casita de monerías gastronómicas.

De los productores del Máximo Bistrot y aquel rollo con Leidi Migraña, Alejandra Soto nos trae ahora: «De Mar a Mar». Un bello lugar por dentro y por fuera que parece teletransportado de la Joya en San Diego directito a una esquina en la apocalíptica Zona Rosa. ¿Porqué en este lugar? Desconozco. Ojalá sea el principio del camino a la recuperación de esta zona, tan bien ubicada y tan descuidada las ultimas dos décadas.
De Mar a Mar tiene un menú justo pero rico. Al principio me pareció algo caro, pero al llegar los platos, las porciones lo convirtieron en «aceptable»; y con la nueva moda de ver la cocina desde tu mesa, puedes ver practicamente como se hace tu plato de principio a fin.
Como el lugar es pequeñísimo, una recomendación es reservar, pues yo tuve que esperar 30 minutos a que algún jipster/​arquitecto/​curador de pajarita terminara su sobremesa mediterránea.
La cuenta por 4 personas es 1,900 aprox, la decoración, lindísima.
