Love Las Islas. I was introduced to this hidden gem las year by a local, and returned this week to have some freshly made masterpieces — octopus in diablo sauce, mixed meats stew served sizzling in a hot stone bowl. The chef, his wife and daughter run the restaurant ad you really feel at home in their shaded courtyard. Apparently the chef Cris(?) has trained in hotels and you can definitely taste it in his food. My husband would not believe that the octopus was octopus, it was tender and succulent with no rubbery texture. The sauce it was in(you can choose your preparation) was slightly spicy, a little sweet, and a little tangy. It went well with rice and tortillas. All of the meats in the hot stone bowl were delicious, the beef and chicken especially. The only caveat is that Las Islas is so far away… but I will always make a trip when I am in PV!
