I have passed this hidden gem many times, I wish I would have stopped sooner. I discovered great views. Great atmosphere. Excellent food. Good service. They have a real class act. I loved that they are taking advantage of the local products Baja has to offer. I ordered the tuna steak, special of the day. My date ordered the salmon pesto pizza. Both where excellent. We sampled the sangria which was also great. Worth a visit or two.

A friend of mine invited me down to Rosarito for dinner and I never imagined it would be such a pleasant experience. I’ve dined many times down in Mexico(Baja California) and have found some good places but I haven’t enjoyed a meal and evening like this in a long time. I felt more like I was on vacation than just our for dinner. It’s a pretty unassuming place from the main highway and even my friend who lives in TJ had a little difficulty finding the entrance from the road but the restaurant is well lit up and there was a gentleman standing out front just to make sure people didn’t miss the entrance. When you leave the main road you are immediately on a dirt road that’s pretty rough to drive in anything that isn’t four wheel drive. But after driving about 50 – 100 feet the dirt road is a bit smoother and the parking is very nice and flat. Right away you notice that you are just a few feet from the water and the view is simply amazing! As you enter the outdoor dining area of the restaurant there are multiple places to sit and anything from bar stools at a high table to a corner seat with cushions that you can stretch out on and plenty of regular tables. They do speak some English but fortunately my friend speaks Spanish fluently and she did all the ordering. There is a bar and they have plenty of cold drinks but we just wanted something light and had lemonade which actually tasted freshly made. Maybe it wasn’t but it was quite good and very cold. For dinner we had decided on pizza and had the«Cinco Queso Pizza» or Five Cheese Pizza. It took a little while for the pizza to come out but because of the view we mostly lost track of time and we weren’t thinking about the food. When the pizza came out and it was hot and fresh. It’s thin crust pizza and the size was about that of a typical medium pizza. And it was most definitely covered in cheese! As I took a slice to put on a plate, you could see the cheese stretching from the slice I was taking… exactly the way a pizza made with fresh ingredients should look. Not greasy but the cheese just kept stretching and stretching as I pulled it from the pan. As I took my first bite, it was simply amazing! The sauce was fresh and there was just the right amount of cheese. Plenty of cheese, but not too much. The crust was cooked to perfection and not over or under cooked. I was actually surprised but my friend and I finished off the whole pie! As we were waiting for our dinner, I saw other dishes of pasta and other foods brought out and everything looked delicious! I know the next time I come back I will try one of the pasta dishes for sure. When we finished the pizza we shared some ice cream. It was a vanilla with a wine flavor, I believe it was Oporto Ice Cream and it was simply delicious and the perfect dessert to go with the meal. We spent the majority of our time at the outdoor dining area but the indoor was quite nice as well. There is a bar area and then a nice quite, secluded dining area. The décor is beautiful and I can’t say enough about how incredible the view is and to listen to the waves crashing on the shore was very relaxing. They weren’t too busy the night we came but this would be in ideal place to come if you are with a large group as they can certainly accommodate it. Something nice I also noticed is usually when you are outdoors there tend to be a lot of bugs but there were virtually none at this place and the weather was perfect the entire evening and as it got later, it didn’t get colder but actually stayed quite comfortable. Again, I highly recommend this place when you are visiting Mexico and if you don’t have a trip planned, I urge you to take the short drive down across the border and enjoy this incredible place. I will no doubt be back again and want to try the pasta dishes… oh, and that amazing ice cream!

#SorryNotSorry

At TrentaQuattro we do everything from scratch and by hand, for example, our pizza dough we mixed by hand and we use extra virgin olive oil like the old school and the romans do century’s a go, that oil comes from our Valley’s of Baja(Valle de Guadalupe) we never use pork oil, butter or vegetable oil, also we don’t use electric mixers or fermentation machines, our fermentation of our dough is only with the breeze of the Pacific Ocean and the temperature of our wood oven. We only use wood to heat our brick oven(70% Oak of Rosarito Beach mountains and 30% Olive Wood from Guadalupe Valley to give you the fusion of the woods in the flavors) we don’t use propane or gas. Our pomodoro, marinara or pizza sauce, we do it at TrentaQuattro, using the fresh and fines herbs of the gardens of the Pizzeria. We don’t use cans, and the time to cook just our pomodoro sauce take approximately 4 – 6 hours and than we let it rest for 1 day to be ready. Our mozzarella cheese are low moister and the best according to us in our research and text of more than 45 cheeses. About the ingredients, we use mostly of the farmers and fisherman’s in the surrounding area, for example, we have the pizza with fresh lobster of Isla de Cedros, Ensenada, the pizza with abalone chorizo of the same area, pizza Quattro Formagio or 4 cheeses of Real del Castillo, Ens.(aged cheeses in cava, 1 ½ years) and fine herbs of our gardens, Pizza with Salmon and pesto, mixed by hand, pizza of grande peperoni imported from Italy mixed with fine herbs already in the old world, pizza jack daniel’s fresh flank meat marinate with fresh pineapple, fresh oregano, whisky jack daniel’s and our homemade sauce, and many more pizzas with unique flavor and the smell of a ranch here at the beach. We are slow food restaurant. Try our wines from our small family business wine makers of Baja, incredible flavors, natural and organic. Touch of passion! We you visit us, you feel, taste and touch the hard of the Baja peninsula and the great peninsula of Italy in one place… That’s why and more things, about 6 months a go, visit us the National Geographic(NatGeo) company and make us a article and we appear in their magazine«Mexico Desconocido«publish in February 2015 of our kitchen and culinary process, to say if you visit Baja, we are: You must Visit TrentaQuattro! «Where every pizza is a work of art.»
