Without a doubt, this place is the best barbecue spot in Tijuana, doubling as a sports bar to enjoy all the best sports events in town. This includes premium events like the Pacquiao Mayweather fight, which I saw there with a couple of friends. The ribs are their signature dish, served with your choice of a number of unique made-from-scratch sauces, such as «La Nena»(mild and sweet) «Mangonero»(spicy blend of Mango and Habanero) and of course a classic House Southern sauce. The rib meals are priced just about as you would expect, and come with either 1 or 2 sides depending on whether you select a full rack or half rack. The sides can also be purchased separately, and include all the best southern comfort foods like mashed potatoes, baked beans(probably the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere!) homemade cornbread, coleslaw, Mac and cheese, home style fries, onion rings, an amazing cheese-filled baked potato, and maybe a few others I’ve forgotten. In addition to the ribs, they also offer a number of other options like burgers and chicken wings, both of which were also knockouts, as well as salads for those seeking lighter fare. The ambience is warm and engaging. It is open-air on one side, with large wood folding doors that give you the feeling of being in someone’s backyard, like one of those old-school southern barbecue spots. They have an impressive sound system set up with multiple screens around the restaurant, and a blazing fast complimentary wifi. Even on fight night, with the place packed, we had no problems getting online. Signage is yet to be put up(the place is still quite new), but since it’s off the main road Agua caliente it was still relatively easy to find, and street parking was ample. I truly hope this place becomes a permanent fixture. It’s my new go-to spot in TJ when I’m looking for good comfort food and a place to enjoy a cold one at the bar. Forgot tacos, if you’re looking for a unique TJ experience, this is it.
