I went here twice during my stay in Tulum. I had had enough of tacos so wanted to try something different and just walked into this place by sheer luck. Was pleasantly surprised with the variety of offerings. Got myself a veggie sandwich and a guava shake and was impressed. Not too cheesy at all. They had very good wifi as well which was the reason I came back the next time around. On my second visit I tried their chai and that was flavorful without being too busy. So if you are in Tulum and in the market for a chai, sandwich or a shake, look no further than El Gourmet.

Unexpected delight. Never thought that Tulum would be a place to enjoy Italian style super high quality delicates sandwiches, top it off with tiramisu and espresso and all in a great local atmosphere. But that’s what you get in El Gourmet. What a sandwich! Give it a try

All I can say is that it was late afternoon and I wanted a good cup of coffee. The place that actually came up from my search for a coffee shop was closing as I arrived at 5:15pm. I walked down the street about half a block before running into this place. Great little menu and a hand crafted café Americana. I will definitely return for some of their vegetarian fare. (The following day) I returned for dinner this evening and had the mozzarella sandwich with a fresh strawberry mango juice. This was by far the freshest and most tasty meal of my last six weeks in Mexico. Very detailed preparation.

wow — a legitimate italian panino in Tulum. These guys make a delicious sandwich, wonderful fresh squeezed juice, and they’re friendly to boot. Plus they sell ingredients /sauces — so a nice option if you are cooking /making your own food I had the Lulu — get one and enjoy the spicy cheesey goodness.

Stopped in here for lunch after a mid-day bike ride to the ruins and Grand Cenote; we were hot and looking to cool down and get some sustenance. The woman who was working there was very nice and the menu had some great looking sandwiches. We chose the caprese and another veggie sandwich and they were both top notch — bread was very fresh, mozzarella on point. It was great to sit at a table under the shade in their little courtyard out back. Highly recommended for lunch.

Very good!!! The man working there gave us a menu in English and was very nice. It is close to all the shops and makes a great breakfast or lunch. We got the first thing on the menu and it was delicious! I well Deff go back tomorrow for breakfast

Stopped in here for lunch and got wonderful, delicious sandwiches. Super high quality ingredients and very nice menu, which somewhat to my surprise was difficult to find in the Yucatan. I was blown away when I walked by and saw someone eating a delicious looking BOWL of salad in Mexico! If I was in Tulum more, this would definitely become a regular spot. The cheery owners also make you want to come back, oh and the iced coffee on those scorching hot days. Love. Thank you!

Dropped in here for dessert and there were alfajores, tiramisu, lemon pie, and strawberry chocolate cake(devil cake I think that’s what they called it) to name a few. All looked delicious. It was so hard to choose! We ended up getting the devil cake and oh myyy. Cream that’s used for making tiramisu mixed with fresh strawberries and chocolate cake? The textures were so pleasant in my mouth and perfectly sweet. Cake was nice and moist. I was totally eyeing the lemon pie but unfortunately when we walked into town the next day the place was already closed as it was New Years Eve. They also make sandwiches here but we didn’t get to try.
