I have to go to the Supermarket to buy food, usually stocking up on beer and wine at the same time, which makes it usual for me to walk into a wine store, honest! I’m no connoisseur so rarely identify with a particular brand or label which makes it a little hit and miss when buying in the supermarket as beyond the type or blend of grape I like I am clueless. I do however like a bit of dialogue when I shop at a specialist, afterall I guess that is what you pay the extra money for. The staff at Blend were happy to oblige, recommending a number of different bottles to me and helped me narrow down the selection to a choice based on my novice specification. It was a pleasure to drink the grape juice I purchased, and I will be sure to return when I fancy another posh evening.

I used to live across the road from Blend and it got to the point where, as I was crossing the road, the owner would take a bottle of my favourite sauvignon blanc from the cooler and have it waiting on the counter for me. NOT that I’m an alco or anything… just saying! So ¹⁰⁄₁₀ for customer service. It’s a small niche wine store so don’t expect your favourite Countdown brands, but the staff are knowledgeable and will be able to make a suggestion based on your tastes and budget.
My budget never really stretched beyond the $ 20 mark but I’m sure there are some lovely wines available if you are looking for a gift or a special occasion bottle.
